Dr. Bruce Alan Hoekstra, MD

I have seen many dermatologists over the years for severe eczema. I was referred with a skin cancer concern, and Dr. Hoekstra was the only doctor in the area without a 3 month waitlist. I had the worst examination I have ever had. He only looked at my face and back of hands, then begrudgingly looked at my shoulders and refused to look anywhere else. He was very quick, appeared uninterested, and was, at best, dismissive towards the specifics of my concerns and towards my questions. I have zero confidence in his assessment and highly recommend people seek treatment elsewhere.

He diagnosed me with an "irritated mole" and tried to freeze it off; I never did and still don't think it's a mole. From "hi" to "bye" was literally 4 minutes. The problem never went away, nothing changed, and I was still billed $830. I fell so insanely ripped off and undervalued as a patient.

At 82, I've visited a lot of dermatologists. He is the BEST in every way.
