Inept.

Considering its at the VA Dr has been great.

Dr Hunts does a good job with my care.

Saw Dr. Hunt on numerous occasions; he would not follow through on putting in specialists consults, misreported labs and just was not interested in my well-being. That about sums it up without getting in detail.

Dr. Bruce E. Hunt used to work at Bay Pines Va in the emergency room, but now he works in MOD D acting as a primary care doctor. He still treats patients as if he is still in the emergency room, which results in him only wanting to deal with one problem per visit, and if you have multiple issues he isn't the right doctor. When I saw him he stated that he can only write down one medical problem per doctor visit, so now my medical record doesn't have all my current issues in it. If he only writes down one medical problem per visit and it takes the VA a month to have an opening, it can take 14 months for someone who has 14 problems to get all of their things documented / dealt with. I don't know who running mod D, but they aren't supervising their doctors well because Dr. Hunt is horrible and should be fired. I pray someone does their job at Bay pines and fires this insane doctor asap.

I went to see Dr. Hunt about some of my service connected disabilities. He didn't seem interested in documented anything I was saying and tried to do the bare minimum just to get me out the door. A few days after the appointment I went into Ebenefits to see what he wrote in my medical records, and I was shocked by what he put. During the appointment I mentioned that he should write down my medical issues, which I could tell upset him. Since he was upset he wrote completely inaccurate information in my medical record because he knew I was concerned for accuracy. Nothing about what actually happened in our appointment was documented, instead just things he wrote to make me look bad and attempted to discredit my name. So, the moral of this story is that if Dr. Hunt gets called out for his medical malpractice by his patients, he will sabotage your medical record. This in return, will make it harder for other Doctors, who actually care about helping veterans instead of doing the bare… minimum like Dr. Hunt, have problems accurately utilizing past medical records for information. It's a shame humans like him get jobs that veterans rely on.

DrHunt may be ok if you have a simple medical issue.. If you need a Primary care doc who will actually look at your med history and consider all your issues to diagnose you on point or even close, I would forget seeing him. His experience is more in the immediate or ER arena where you have a one time contact and no responsibility for you beyond that. He ignores obvious red flags on potentially life threatening symptoms and doesn't address it. Doesn't get acquainted with your history, or wouldn't prescribe meds that should not be given due to conditions you have been diagnosed with in the past.
