Dr. Bruce Kava, MD

This review is not about Dr. Kava; it is about the policy at his UHealth office. I arrived on time for a recent appointment, and after waiting for 30 minutes was told that all appointments were running an at least an hour and a half late due to an emergency. A delay due to an emergency is understandable. What is not understandable, is why the UHealth office, knowing of this delay, did not contact any of his patients who now would be spending 2+ hours in his office to see him that day. UHealth routinely sends patients multiple texts to patients informing them to be on time and to pre-register in order to save their office staff work. However, they choose not to notify patients when they know there will be a lengthy delay, since the delay inconveniences only the patient, not the staff. Such notifications could be done easily via a text or a phone call, and the patient could either reschedule or continue with the appointment, as they prefer. If a patient is too late for an… appointment to be seen that day, the patient has to pay Uhealth a fee for a missed appointment. UHealth does not offer any compensation to patients when the patient cannot sit in the waiting room for hours, due to a glitch in UHealth's schedule, which they chose not to inform the patient of in advance. UHealth administration's treatment of patents reflects this reality: patients are simply a conduit for insurance companies to make large payments to UHealth for services. It is not unlike how airlines treat passengers, which is to say abysmally. Dr. Kava is highly rated, and I expect that he is a very good physician. However, I urge everyone who uses UHealth to consider moving to a different medical organization, since loss of revenue is the only language UHealth understands. However, if you wish to continue to use UHealth, you might consider cancelling your appointment anytime they are not punctual in seeing you at the time of your appointment. This is what I did. Cancelling your appointment in such a circumstance will leave UHealth with an empty slot for which they will be unable bill anyone, and that will cost them revenue. Loss of revenue is the only language that UHealth understands and could cause them to acknowledge that the time and convenience of their patients is at least as important as that of their staff.

Dr. Kava is top Dr. In his field.of Urology . And great human being. Ad to it his staff and you are in good hands and I fully trust him .

Dr.Bruce Kava is an excellent physician.He performed a surgical procedure on me in 2003 successfully.He has taking care of me since then with good results. Very inspirational."The best"

I wasted an hour and half of my day to be seen until I could wait no longer and left in utter disgusts. Left work early to lose money and waste time, go some place that functions better.

I'm 64 yrs old in pretty good shape and have had a problem with bleeding down below on and off for about 10 years. I'd seen 3 or 4 Urologists in NJ, had 2 procedures and still, it came back with a vengeance when I moved to Florida in '17, I then saw 2 other recommended urologists: Nothing, The last guy said he couldn't help and referred me to Dr. Kava who prescribed 2 meds taken together. The problem ceased in about 2 1/2 weeks. That was 1 1/2 ago. I've had only 1 episode since and that was months ago. I waited to go back but it never happened again. It was difficult getting the first appointment , but not the follow up, and well worth the original wait !! He also had a great bedside manner. I would NOT go to ANYONE else ever !!

I have not gotten any response from him even though I have called, left messages and texted on UHealth chart. I’m not dead, yet, but I doubt if he would care. Very disappointing.

He is the best doctor ever! He is very professional, provides detailed information of diagnosis, treatment, prognosis. He spend time with the patient. I am his patient for 3 years and I can say he really cares for his patients. His office needs more personal to follow up, return calls and be on top of every patient.

I had a huge kidney stone and he was so amazing treating me & performing the procedure to get rid of it. I saw 2 other uro's and he was by the far the best. Anytime anyone needs a urologist I will be recommending him. Very compassionate & caring. All doctors should be like him!

Dr Kava is a great doctor. He is very kind and really cares. Very professional. I am 100% satisfied and would definitely recommend him.
