Meet Dr. Logan
Bruce S. Logan, D.D.S., Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, was raised in Spokane, Washington. During his youth, his family traveled frequently to Oregon, and he early on fell in love with the beauty of our great state. When the time came, Southern Oregon seemed a natural place to settle with his family, and start an oral surgery practice. His love of the mountains and outdoors; as well as the people of our region have helped keep him a resident of the Rogue Valley, and active member of our medical community, for more than 25 years.
After settling in Oregon, Dr. Logan worked with Dr. Joel Slaughter to create the very successful practice of Associates for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Prior to joining the practice, Dr. Logan attended the University of Puget Sound, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1970 and completed two years of graduate studies in Marine Biology. He then attended Georgetown School of Dentistry, where he …was awarded his Doctor of Dental Sciences (D.D.S.) degree, Cum Laude, and made a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon, an honorary dental fraternity in 1977. Following graduation, Dr. Logan spent three years as a resident in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, with rotations in emergency medicine, anesthesia, internal medicine, general surgery, plastic surgery and otolaryngology.
Dr. Logan served as assistant professor of surgery, division of oral and maxillofacial surgery, University of Cincinnati Medical Center, and held appointments at the University of Cincinnati Hospitals, Children's Hospital Medical Center of Cincinnati, and the Cincinnati Veterans Administration Hospital. His current hospital appointments are with Providence Medford Medical Center, Rogue Valley Medical Center, Medford; Merle West Medical Center, Klamath Falls.
A Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Dr. Logan is also a member of the American Dental Association, Oregon Dental Association, Southern Oregon Dental Society, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, Oregon Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Western Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Associations of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the Academy of Osseointegration. Dr. Logan has served as past president of the Southern Oregon Dental Society and the Southern Oregon Dental Implant Study Club. He is the current Chairman of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for Providence Medford Medical Center and Rogue Valley Medical Center.
In March of 2010, Dr. Logan started the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Center of Oregon.
Amongst other specialties, Dr. Logan has a special interest in the placement of dental implants, bone grafting, corrective jaw surgery and the extraction of wisdom teeth. Continuing education is also a priority for Dr. Logan, and he spends more time than required each year keeping up to date on the latest techniques and trends in the field of oral surgery. It is his desire to provide the highest level of care to his patients.
Away from his profession, Dr. Logan is a proud father of four, and enjoys paragliding, skiing, fishing, camping, hiking, scuba diving and hunting for medical antiques.
