Dr. Bruce Scott Markman, MD

I can understand the dozens of reviews that compliment this provider's knowledge and experience because it is evident. However, I would like to note that bedside manner is a crucial aspect of patient care. Especially when we as patients must present our most vulnerable selves in front of providers with decades of experience. In the off-chance that anyone from the practice reads reviews, please understand that the walls in the exam rooms are rather thin, and we hear you when you discuss patient cases amongst yourselves. Please remember to stay respectful and professional when you're exchanging sensitive information. This applies to PA's, MA's and Physicians.

Dr Bruce Markman did an excellent job repairing my torn quad tendon. It was completely severed and 3 months later I am back to almost normal. Three mile walk today. I could not be happier. This was the second time I needed Dr Markman's skill. Both surgeries went very well. I am glad to recommend him to anyone. If I could give him a 10 star rating I would.

After researching the ratings on this page and others, I chose to set an appointment with Dr. Markman at his Allen, TX location and left without seeing the doctor because of my dissatisfaction. As directed, I completed my new patient paperwork online which included taking photos of both sides of my driver's license and insurance card, entering all patient information and credit card payment information. I arrive and was told that they couldn't find the information and I was asked to complete paperwork for the second time. Another patient overheard me and told me he had to do the same thing. I arrived at the office at 9:30am for a 9:45am appointment and at 11:00am I inquired if the Dr. had emergency surgery, but was told no. I asked if I had mistaken my 9:45am appointment time and was told no. When asked for the return of my images, they brought the doctor to me. My impression was, that while he was sorry I waited, it was just standard practice and was common. While in… the waiting room, I watched (3) individuals whom did not have appointments (and were not patients but I assume sales reps) walked in. I have a serious medical condition and visit a variety of doctors at least once per month. I can tell you the "old school" doctor's practice of forcing your patients to wait because they have no other choice is dead. I do not wait more than 30 minutes anywhere I go. Even after speaking with the doctor, another nurse who was not involved with the conversation and unaware, saw me walking down the hall as I left and literally stepped in front of me to the point I had to stop and dodge her. No apology, just what she did. Therefore, just as easy as I found this practice, I can leave.

I want to publicly thank Dr. Bruce Markman for such an outstanding job reviving my shot knees. One step from literally crawling to his office in excruciating pain. Dr. Markman with confidence and competence thoroughly examined both knees, identified the problems and assured me he could Orthoscopidely go in and clean up the damages with a great deal of relief. On Jan 23, my surgery took approx 1.5 to 2hrs. I want everyone to know I feel so much better I immediately started physical therapy it is a joy to be able to perform the strengthening exercises like squats, leg pulls w/weight, and leg presses. Before the surgery, it would hurt just thinking about those activities. My hat is off to a very gifted and blessed doctor. Again, Thank you, Dr. Markman, you are an awesome man and my orthopedic surgeon for life.

I went for my 2nd appointment last week. Exceptional care. Dr. Markham (very knowledgeable and caring) as well as Derrick and Donna. 100% recommendation.

Dr Markman is an exceptional orthopedic specialist, surgeon, and an exceptional person. His orthopedic knowledge and skills are without question, as is his "bedside" manner. Dr. Markman's care for his patients from first appointment to last makes you feel like you've "got a friend in the business"! I've seen him for a couple of issues, and, obviously, have been beyond pleased. I highly recommend Bruce Markman.

Very good doctor, and surgeon. He really knows how to talk and explain all the issues regarding your care. I had an excellent outcome from my shoulder surgery, and I would recommend him to everyone who wants there shoulder pain to disappear.

Dr. Markman and his staff are excellent! He repaired my rotator cuff problem and documented everything from the surgery on color prints for each step of the procedure. Every detail was gone over with me and all questions answered. Both the Dr. and his PA are friendly and caring. The result was a full recovery, my shoulder stronger than it ever was, allowing me to lead an active lifestyle.
