It was by chance that Dr. Nayowith was assigned to me in the Emergency Room at Fairview Hospital. I was visiting my parents in the Berkshires at their new house for the week and decided to explore the large pond on their property. I stepped into some muck and a stick punctured my big toe, creating a large incision that all the way to the bone. It immediately filled up with the muck and dirty pond water, making it a huge infection risk.I credit Dr. Nayowith with being the reason why, a week later, my foot is healing perfectly. From other people I've spoken to with similar injuries, the doctors used did a poor job of numbing the area before the cleaning and it proved a very painful experience for all of them. The level of care I got from Dr. Nayowith was exceptional -- minimal pain, excellent aftercare help (he squeezed me in to his schedule the next morning to check up on it), and is one of the few doctors I've encountered that seemed to really care about my recovery.As I am prone to… injury for doing stupid boy-like things while in the woods, Dr. Nayowith will be the only doctor I let near me if I end up in the ER again.

It is so rare to find a physician that connects so well with the people he sees.Has it been 20 years since I saw Dr. Nayowith, having always lived too far away to be his patient, and, tonight, I again think of him and his genuine personality and spot-on diagnosis of myofascial pain, and furnishing me with a plan to care for it.But it was his healing spirit that puts him far and above most physicians. How I wish I could find someone like him now. Thank you, Doctor.

Found him funny, easygoing, and helped me through my illness. He diagnosed it easily and made me feel at home -- in a hospital!
