Dr. Bruce Ian Tranmer, MD

A kind doctor who made me feel at ease about my brain tumor.

I lift and exercise daily and have been dealing with pain associated with a herniated disk for at least five years now. Also I don't take pain meds aside from the over the counter Ibuprofen. Tranmer was seeing me for my herniation after many rounds of PT and other treatments. When I first met with him i had to tell him that my MRI was on his computer when he didn't know. He also asked me all the same questions as his PA did prior. Obviously he hadn't spent any time reviewing my chart prior to the appointment. He ordered a second MRI witch he claimed had to be done in burlington because it is different there. When I spoke with the radiology department they said that type of imaging could be done anywhere. After reviewing the results he said my disk has reduced in size and that I would not have to return to the office. He said it should clear up in a few months. So I kindly reminded him that "I have been dealing with this problem for years, why hasn't it cleared up yet?0". To which… he said "oh that's right... I'm not sure why that is... you can try back exercises". I believe he assumes I want pain pills even though I clearly stated to him. "I will not take pain pills, I just want to be done with the pain and I know surgery may be the only way".

Dr. Tranmer performed two surgeries on myself that literally turned my life around. One on my neck and the other for my lower back. Both surgeries had the same outcome, the moment I opened my eyes in post-op, I knew the surgery was a complete success. The pain was gone and the relief I felt is still beyond words. I am totally grateful and forever in his debt. Brilliant surgeon who I highly recommend and can never say enough on how much I appreciate him.

I had constant pain and a loss of movement in the lower back and leg due to sciatica ,nothing helped, acupuncture, physical therapy, chiropractic adjustment, pain medication. It took a few months to find Dr.Tranmer. One day being operated on at FA and i walked out under my own steam, been pain free for 2 years now. thank you Dr Tranmer

I didn't get any answers and when they needed to schedule a cervial epidural, him and his office staff bantered back and forth, you call, no you call them.

super experience,I'd recommend anyone to at least listen to his options, that's right you have a say in what happens to you.if there was a 1 in 100,000 chance of success I'd let him operate!

Extremely Professional. Put me at ease. Did NOT suggest invasive surgery, but Physical Therapy and a future examination.

Not only did this skilled physician save my life, numerous times, but is also one of the most compassionate doctors I have ever encountered. He is a brilliant surgeon and has a genuine concern for his patients. Kudos to Dr. Tranmer. He is what being a doctor is really about.
