Dr Bryan C Bruner, MD

Dr. Bruner gave the hospital an order for the WRONG kidney. He had at least 4 MRI and Sonogram reports to consult, but apparently did not read any of them before writing the order. HE HAS NEVER CALLED ME. I got a call that he had sent the right order over, but no call from Dr. Bruner. Another Dr. at Urology Clinics of North Texas retired who was monitoring a benign growth on my kidney for 7 years. I was transferred to Dr. Bruner. In our diagnostic session, he told me the growth was starting to expand (same as previous Dr.). He recommended a procedure to cut-off blood flow to stop the growth and possible shrink it. He sent the order over to the hospital for an interventional radiologist (IR). The IR did the procedure, but then told me it was the wrong kidney (no growth seen). The IR researched and found records from 14 years ago from first diagnosis. He said Dr. Bruner's order was on the wrong kidney. The IR apologized profusely for the mistake and ordered no charges. The hospital… did not charge my insurance, but my Medical Spending Account was drained for the co-pay and has not been refunded. Two weeks later finds me looking for another Urologist, dreading the call to the hospital to get a refund on the co-pay, and wondering how long I have before the growth on my RIGHT kidney becomes a real problem.

Everything about our interaction with Bryan Bruner was disappointing. He took very little interest in my symptoms but was ready to perform (and get paid for) a procedure that didn't work. He never called to prep/review results/discuss final result but did have his secretary call to say "it looks like your procedure didn't work but, since you're moving, just find someone new in your new location" We were aghast at the cavalier, uninterested, unprofessional, low quality attitude and capabilities of the entire experience. Find a different doctor if you care about your health.

Dr Bruner has been very straight forward with me and has given me information in an easy to understand way. The news he had to give me was not good but he spoke to me with such care and compassion that he helped put me at ease. I have a long way to go and I hope that he is by my side every step of the journey. I highly recommend him!

I went in to see Dr. Bruner for a biopsy on the Renel cell cysts on my Kidney. The first thing they did when I got I; the room was ask me to pee in a cup.When I ask why they said it was something all his patients do. Five minutes later the nurse cam running back in the room telling us I had a BAD UTI with blood in my urine. When Dr. Bruner came in tha was all he was concerned with, I stopped him and said I had come for interpretation of my CT scan which showed these cysts and explained I wanted a biopsy. He looked at the CT scan and we saw 5 ADDITIONAL cysts that the Radiologist had not even listed. When I brought this to his attention he quickly closed the scan down and went back to UTI and that I needed a Proceedure done to look at my urinary track for infections again. He said he would set it up in the Hospital as if he found anything and he was sure he would he couldn’t fix it if the proceedure was done in the office. Later that week his office called me to say there was NO UTI… or blood in my urine! I again ask for a biopsy and was told NO he couldn’t do it and would explain to me just prior to the cystoscope proceedure. When I went in to get my records from that visit he had put in the report that I had 10 UTIs that year! I had it removed and resent to my doctor.

I saw Doctor Bruner as a referral for a fistula. He was so kind and compassionate and then referred be to a colo rectal surgeon who he would partner with to perform, surgery and make me well again. This was the scariest event and he made me confident and well informed. I would recommend him to anyone and me and my family are eternally grateful!

Dr. Bruner is simply the best. His training and medical knowledge is first rate. Dr. Bruner's greatest attribute is his "bedside" manner and personality. Always puts you at ease. You feel like you are receiving the best care and advice possible. I would highly recommend him.

Dr. Bruner was very attentive to my questions and comments. He addressed all questions and concerns of which I spoke with him during my office visit. This was a yearly appointment and all was good. I will continue to see Dr. Bruner with my Urology needs.

Vasectomy. Dr Bruner had an excellent bedside manner and the procedure went very well. I agree with some of the other reviewers; his staff could be much more helpful. The biggest negative I experienced was that Dr Bruner's office does not provide its own phone number. There is only a number that all the doctors in the practice share. This is aggravating. Trying to determine when the doctors were in the office and available to examine samples was an ordeal. The people answering the main line have no idea, and you end up spending 20 minutes on the phone being passed from the scheduling group to the main line to who knows where.
