Dr. Bryan Adrian De La Torre

When our grieving family member most needed our support, Dr. De La Torre, isolated us from her. We acted appropriately always. We sought only to provide this doctor with helpful information and to seek answers to legitimate medical concerns. Instead, our words seemed to go unheeded, as he seemingly cherrypicked non-contextual information which fit his narrative and advocated for an involuntary hospital admission. Moreover, this doctor failed to adequately answer the simple question, 'Based upon what criteria are you making this recommendation?' Glib answers such as 'textbook' and 'checking off all the boxes' are insufficient, at best. In our estimation, mental health diagnoses cannot be appropriately made within hours of observing an individual. Multiple missteps such as these, as well as others, sent our family member on a terrifying, as well as traumatic, medical journey
