He served as an associate dentist with Dr. Robert Thompson at Bass Lake Dental for 4 1/2 years, and purchased the practice upon Dr. Thompson's retirement in May, 2008. In addition to numerous continuing education courses, Dr. Ophaug has completed a comprehensive advanced training course in Cerec CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing). He has also completed a Standard Proficiency Dental Laser Course at the Institute for Advanced Laser Dentistry. Dr. Ophaug was named one of the Top Dentists by Minneapolis/St. Paul Magazine in 2007 and again in 2009. He resides in South Minneapolis with his French bulldog, Jinx.
