Dr Bryan Thomas Piedad

Excellent doctor who cares about his patients and is easy to talk to.

I found Dr Piedad very pleasant and open to discussing varying viewpoints. I had read these opinions before going to my appointment but in fairness to him, I reserved judgement until my own experience. He was very informative and willing to discuss my questions and concerns as well as address my views. He showed a willingness to flex to my own concerns and listen to my views then explain matters in a peer to peer manner. Never was he condescending or brusque. I felt very confident in his care and his demeanour at all times, and I view any Dr I work with as a part of my team, who I interact with as a peer while respecting their experience and knowledge as greater than mine. He is top-notch in my book.

Initially, I felt Dr. Piedad was very kind. He's cordial, informative, highly intelligent, and needed in the community. He knows it, too. When it comes to controlling the direction of the patient/doctor conversation, he has quite a finesse. It's like being elegantly shut down all the while he's smiling. Well, amen. I may eventually need an ablation. But I am less inclined to submit to invasive procedure at the hands of a doctor who finds my input about my condition 'irritating.' He's an expert in his field with good reviews, true, but I've talked to him when he's running about a quart low on patience. Basically, he's nice if he has control. Maybe that's Business 101, I don't know. I do want to be fair in my estimation but feeling "shut-down" on a couple occasions left a bad taste in my mouth. I felt scolded for interrupting him when I needed to explain something I felt was important. If a doctor can't listen, it's time to find one who will. I felt vulnerable during a scary Afib… episode and he knew exactly how to smoothly seal the deal for ablation. We'll see what happens. Dr. Piedad, I'd like to be treated with more respect.

I've been seeing this guy for about a year. He is near the bottom of the list of the dozen or so doctors I have had in my life (I am 58). He is low on graciousness and high on irritability. I'm not sure exactly what it is, but he seems to have a low tolerance for questions from patients. He gives off a sense of irritation where I now dread seeing him. I give simple yes or no answers to his questions, and try to get through his appointments as soon as I can. Unfortunately, it is difficult for me to change doctors, so, I hope others who read this will request someone-else. Avoid this immature person at all cost.

This is one of the worst so-called heart doctors I have known. He is relatively young (about 50) and really shows his young attitude. He has no patience - he criticizes the patients if they do not follow his directions to the T, and simply refers them to websites to get more information. He does very little consulting with patients - it is woefully inadequate. This guy is a real jerk. He should never have been a doctor. I'll be he feels cool being a doctor. That's all he really cares about. Gain some better manners you stupid jerk!!!!

I tried other options for afib including Cardioversion, but nothing would last. Dr Piedad conducted an Ablation which did and still is working to give me a regular heartbeat. He was patient and kind, telling me later which cells were frozen and which ones overcooked. He even explained in my terms how he would know the good guys (cells) from the bad guys. Staff was also kind and thoughtful.

Dr. Piedad is a wonderful doctor!

I trust Dr. Piedad 100% as my EP Cardio doc. He has been totally correct in my rare diagnoses and 100% committed to my care and recovery. I would trust any of my family and/or friends to contact Dr. Piedad for treatment. He is thorough and has tirelessly researched my diagnosis and has taken much time in his office (and in the hospital) to explain medical lingo and my treatment plan. He's one in a million.

I went because my pacemaker is at end of life. My Doctor had left the practice and no one told me. It was only after I called that I was told he left. I saw Dr Piadad, he was very rude. He told me that I had to wait 90 days for the insurance company would pay because that is when my PM would go on back up. I asked him if this could be done sooner. He said only if I wanted to pay for it myself he could not control the insurance companies. I got upset I am not medicare or medicaid who has different rules then private health insurance. He was very blunt and rude. I went to my employer and called my insurance company and spoke to his insurance rep. NONE OF THEM HAD HEARD OF THIS. the surgery is now being scheduled with no thanks to him. If I had time I wouldn't go to him but I am out of it. Post surgery I am going to change doctors.
