Dr. Bryan Wood's path to becoming a dentist stems from a passion for working with his hands. After high school he enlisted in the United States Navy and served for eight years as a helicopter mechanic. His ambition to become a naval aviator was dashed when he learned that at six and a half feet tall he exceeded the Navy's height limitations. After leaving the service he began his professional career at the University of New Mexico where he graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Dental Hygiene. He worked for several years as a dental hygienist in New Mexico and Virginia before entering dental school. Dr. Wood earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. His experience as a dental hygienist leads to a particular interest in helping his patients achieve and maintain optimal oral hygiene, function and oral health. Dr. Wood loves his work and continues to stay abreast of the modern …advances in dental technologies and implants, through continuing education courses that he attends throughout the year. He is proud of the expertise and rapport that he has with his patients.
