About Dr. Moe
Highland Dental Arts is the fulfillment of a dream of Byron S. Moe, D.D.S. since his graduation from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in 1964. The small town feel of Highland seemed to fit nicely with Dr. Moe’s needs and personality. He has developed and maintained his practice in the same location since 1974.
Dr. Moe has continually upgraded his knowledge and skills by attending over 2000 hours of courses on implants, new restorative procedures, prosthetics, as well as new safety and sterilization regulations. His work is highly regarded by many dental specialists in the area and he enjoys frequent referrals of patients from these specialists.
He is well known for his craftsmanship in designing and fabricating bridges, crowns, and dentures so that the teeth appear very natural and fit well into the mouth. He handcrafts all gold work himself and only utilizes labs for the porcelain work that meet his very exacting standards. Thus he can assure that …his patients have bright, beautiful smiles. See sample photos.
Patients of Dr. Moe appreciate the fact that he has not only years of experience but also has knowledge of the latest techniques and materials. Nothing can replace the forty-five plus years of experience in dealing with multiple types of problems, including detecting abnormalities in the oral cavity, early detection of oral cancer and referring them to appropriate oral surgeons for further treatment.  Dr. Moe and staff routinely screen for hypertension by taking blood pressures before procedures.
Dr. Moe is a member in good standing of the Tri-County Dental Society, the California Dental Association, and a Life Member of the American Dental Association.
Dr. Moe is well-known locally as a musician, and has sung in multiple groups throughout the Inland Empire. However, his love is his trumpet and he enjoys that form of musical expression best of all. That has led him to a unique specialty – oral repairs for trumpeters! As he knows what is necessary in the oral cavity to produce good sound through a trumpet, he has been able to repair mouths of some leading trumpeters in the LA area - including the former band director for the QE2 cruise ships.
