For three decades , I have had the good fortune to benefit from excellent care provided by Dr. Starr. He cared for my husband and for me and inspired our confidence in his remarkable knowledge and prudent judgment. He was unfailing in his follow through, even calling us late at night to discuss medications or provide advice. I was not surprised to learn that he has received four awards for compassionate care. He is patient with his patients , explaining every detail, answering questions , even making diagrams to help you understand. And he has a wonderful sense of humor which masks him even more endearing. I have been told by other physicians at Niorthwestern that doctors go to him for a diagnosis. He is a superlative internist and an old fashioned Doctor in his dedication

Even if I have to wait, I am not upset as I know that it's only because he is spending time with someone in need. He is the most thorough MD I have ever experienced. He is up on the most current information, and also has wonderful referrals if needed. I have referred many of my colleagues to him, and they also have nothing but glowing reviews.

My husband and I have been under Dr. Starr's care for approx. 29 years and consider it a priviledge. He is knowledgeable, detail oriented, personable, and one of the most caring people I have ever known. With any specific medical needs we were sent to one of the top specialists in Chicago. I have been seeing Dr. Starr since 1977. He is extremely knowledgeable, thorough, listens to you, wonderful personality, great sense of humor. Makes an extra effort to make sure you are taken care of properly. I recommend him highly and you could not find a better doctor.

I've been a patient for almost 20 years. When you are with Dr. Starr, he is fabulous: knowledgeable, caring, takes his time. Post visit follow-up is nonexistent, either from him or his staff. And, this has gotten worse over the years. If your healthy and need a physical, he's great. If you need follow-up from a doctor, forget it from him or his staff.

Me and my wife are both doctors but wanted to be in hand of someone else since we as doctors are always ignorant of our bodies. We are lucky and blessed to have Dr.Starr as our primary physician which took an excellent history, did a perfect physical exam and made sure that we can get an appointment with radiology department.He is not only an excellent care provider but a good example for young doctors,too.
