Byung S. Yoo, DDS
Dr. Byung Sun Yoo graduated from the University Of Colorado School Of Dentistry in 1996. He was born in Seoul, Korea and because his father was in the military, the family moved often. He has lived in Honolulu, Hawaii; Phoenix, Arizona and Denver, Colorado.
In 1987, Dr. Yoo attended a Billy Graham Crusade and accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior. His faith and desire to serve the Lord was what drew him to his career choice of becoming a dentist. His favorite bible scripture is Matthew 6: 33-34 "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own".
Dr. Yoo met his future wife, Jeannie, while he was in dental school and they married after he graduated. Jeannie graduated from the University of Colorado School of Pharmacy one year later and the family moved here to San Diego. Dr. Yoo, Jeannie and …their two beautiful children, Elyse and Zachary now call "America's Finest City" home.
After graduating from dental school, Dr. Yoo began his career working in a large dental office in San Diego, where he stayed until 1999. Ready to venture out on his own, he was blessed to find and purchase a well-established dental office in the historic Banker's Hill area.
In the early years of owning this practice, Dr Yoo learned much about biocompatible dentistry from the previous owner, Dr. David C. Kennedy. Dr. Kennedy shared his vast knowledge and experience regarding alternative dental care; such as mercury-free dentistry and microscopic evaluation for non-surgical periodontic therapy.
After attending a seminar hosted by the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT) in March 2000, Dr. Yoo realized that "alternative" dental treatment; using the whole body approach; was superior to "traditional" dental treatment. Being an avid learner and eager to take his practice to new levels, Dr. Yoo has attended many different continuing education courses including:

International Association for Orthodontics, Advanced Orthodontics, Level II
Dr. Jim Beck's Course in Full Mouth Reconstruction to Optimal Dental Physiology
In addition to the general dentistry and with his advanced training, he has incorporated Orthodontics, TMJ and Sleep Dentistry to the practice.

Dr. Yoo is devoted to his family, his church and his dental practice. He feels that being a dentist and providing care to and for his patients is part of his own ministry and a blessing in every way. During his spare time he enjoys golfing and spending time with his family.
