Dr. Callie D. Montez, MD

I needed a new psychiatrist when mine retired on short notice. Dr. Montez did not listen to me when I didn't want to be on any more medications, and then left me traumatized for two years before I would see anyone else. She could not be reached, would not return calls or messages, and had a terrible bedside manner.

Dr. Montez is a very smart doctor and does her best to talk and help with your issue. She actually reviewed my patient history, which is unheard of. However, She was/is a part of a Clinic (Mission East Clinic) that closed with no notice to their patients. None. Dr. Montez gave me 30 days of my medication and ended our relationship. It takes more than 30 days to get a new psychiatrist these days, so I was left to slowly watch my mesd run out while waiting for an appointment with a new doctor. SHE COULD NOT BE REACHED, though I tried through many different avenues including her assistant, the clinic itself, email, and the pharmacy. Being a MENTAL HEALTHCARE PROVIDER, it is imperative that they make sure their clients are cared for in incident like this. This was patient abandonment and, though not her fault the clinic closed, her lack of communication and patient abandonment are. Lastly, I would not recommend Dr. Montez if you are looking for compassion. Her bedside manner needs work.
