Dr. Calvin Chiang, MD

He was not Real good as a matter. of fact, he avoided the question of can you take care of my pain with a reply of we can put in a back stimulator, but I already had one and it didn't work.. So he said goodbye.. Ha!

Dr. Chaing has been my doctor for 8 years he is very kind and compassionate in the beginning we butted heads but through time I wouldn't want to go to anyone else I got my life back going to him before that never left my house was always in so.much pain but he changed that and when I call about something they get me right in

If I could give zero stars, I would. This doctor is one of the worst I've seen in my 6+ month battle with an un-diagnosed disease. He lacks any sort of empathy and is incredibly condescending. He told me that the source of my pain is bottled up emotions from abuse that happened 24 YEARS AGO and that I need to see a therapist - it's all in my head. He also wouldn't listen to what I had to say and even opened the door mid-conversation and with one foot out the door, continue to spew his opinion at me while I sat naked on the table. After a minute of feeling uncomfortable, I stated I was not through with my questions and asked that he please shut the door. He did so, clearly annoyed that I was exercising my rights and rushed me through my last questions. This doctor is in the WRONG line of work. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME unless you want to feel belittled and discredited in your pain.

Most horrible experience I have ever had and I mean that from the bottom of my heart. ??I have gone through 5 abdominal surgeries in 3 years after giving birth to 2 large 9 lb babies. I went to see Dr. Chiang and he lectured me about the pain medication that my surgeon had me on?! He talked the whole time about addiction and the pain being in my head and referred me to mental health. What a cop out.. I have numerous scans and doctors proving my diastasis recti. I have not had a great experience with the staff at this office either, they do not want to give you any tome to explain yourself or answer a question they are asking, rushed through everything. It was a joke... I was in tears, couldn’t get a word out and was talked to like I was an addict. I would not recommend this staff to anyone EVER. I now have a pain specialist helping me that listens to understand me, and does not listen to interrupt or respond to me. He truly cares and is giving me numerous options and treating me like… family. I REALLY HOPE SOMEONE SEES THIS THAT CAN CHANGE THE WAYS AT THIS OFFICE. MANY PEOPLE WILL SUFFER AND BECOME DEPRESSED OVER THE CONVERSATIONS HAD WITH THIS DR. He doesn’t care and will do anything to make sure you know all the knowledge in his head, in the 15 minutes you get in the office with him. He will not let you talk and will find a way to push you off. What a disappointment.

Mr. Chiang is my third pain management "Dr." in the past 15 years. He is - hands down - the worst. You may as well not be in the room. He talks AT you, not WITH you. I felt as if my input didn't register with him at all, and as far as I'm concerned, that's one of the MOST important aspects of a Dr. patient relationship. After 4 visits I decided to try someone else, as I was wasting my time. I doubt Mr. Chiang has ever had anything more painful than a bad bruise, because he certainly doesn't understand chronic debilitating pain and how it effects people. I truly believe he thinks everyone is just out to get pain medication for no reason at all, even though years of documentation from Hospitals and Doctors says otherwise. Do yourself a big favor and skip Mr. Chiang in your search for a reputable pain management physician.

The clinic staff are awesome and on the mark, the only issue was wait times for injections was excruciating for someone in pain. Dr Chang has been wonderful fitting my dad in to help and the staff are so compassionate!

I've had about a 6 pain management Drs. around the country in the past 20 years. Dr. Chiang is definitely the worst I've had. He treats patients like their opinion is meaningless. Patient input has no bearing whatsoever. You might as well not exist, because he really doesn't care about your input. He may very well be an android, because I've seen no indication that he's a human being. Do yourself a big favor and find a pain management Dr. with a pulse, and one that really cares about your pain management case. He ain't the guy.

This man has no compassion and he must not ever have been in pain himself.

I found Dr. Calvin Chan to be rude, crude, and negative. He was not a very understanding or compassionate person. After my second surgery in 2009, I attended the Pain Clinic for severe back pain (I have had 2 fusions - Dr. G. Whitbeck). I never drove myself to my appointments because driving increases my back pain, and I was concerned about my ability to drive from Sodus to Rochester on so much medication. So when my niece was steeling my medication and replacing them with OTC drugs that looked similar. I tested negative for drugs in my system. However, Dr. Chan never informed me about my urine testing negative to Opiates; if he had I might have realized my niece was taking my drugs. However, when I broke my arm my orthopedic doctor, Michael Coulucci gave me pain medication. Dr. Chan used that against me and refused to treat me. I was being held to a paper I had signed over a year prior. I did not remember signing it or reading it, this type of medication can affect… anyoneâ??s ability to function (I was told not to sign any important documents without letting my lawyer read them first, an option I was not given). Dr. Chan humiliated me and berated me for over 1 hour, after he had made me wait over 15 minutes in the waiting room and another 30 minutes in the exam room. He never asked my permission to have a male associate in the room with us. It seemed like he enjoyed upsetting me. I left in tears and never returned. It has taken me about 2 years to write this and I continue to be in excruciating pain.

I had been seeing a dr at this practice for 7 years until he was suddenly replaced by dr Chiang. I told him about my pain history but he showed no interest in anything I had to say about my long battle with pain. His suggestions were bordering on the offensive side to me but he clearly didn't care. If you are looking for help with a chronic pain, stay away from this doctor or you can end up the same or worse.
