Dr. Calvin P Fuhrmann, MD

I was hesitant to write this but after talking to a couple clinicians in this field they encouraged me too. Last week I went in to see the “Doc”I walked in the main entrance because I thought that was where he had seen his patients. I thought Caroline used the back. So it was an honest mistake. Casey who was very pleasant started checking me in. Patrick comes into the front office and said “You are an addiction patient and need to come around to the other door. I said I apologize and went back outside to the other door and there he was. I felt embarrassed I felt that it was a hippa violation. I did not want people sitting in the waiting room knowing my personal business. Anyone who I have told this story too is absolutely shocked that a office would allow that to happen. I am a middle aged women who has been trying to get my life on a better track and after leaving that appointment i felt lower than I have in a long time. Whether you are there for addiction issues or for a cold you… should be treated the same. I called to see if I could file a grievance and I was told to write a letter to “Doc” I have a traumatic past which makes it hard for me to trust people but I reached out and found another provider. And they have one door for everyone. Thanks for listening

He will always listen to your needs and is a kind and caring doctor. He would try to send you to best specialist if you needed to see one. He was a great doctor and I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a good doctor!

I have been going to Dr Fuhrman for approximately 12 yrs..never had a Doctor like him in past,he takes his time and listens to all your concerns,never ever rushing you ...don't know what I will do if and when he retires.

Anyone who were to write a negative review of this doctor obviously has done something wrong. This man was caring, considerate, and a downright saint. He loved his patients with the same amount of care you would expect from a father. He was understanding, and thorough. Someone you could talk to without the fear of persecution. All reports below, regarding the use of controlled substances are false. Dr Fuhrmann did his best to treat people the way they deserved to be treated. It was certainly not his fault that the woman went through her prescription in a week. she should have followed the directions on her bottle and not gone all nuts taking it like candy. thats not what medicine is for. He left his practice, as a 70+ year old Dr. that treated people with ultimate success. There will always be people who abuse drugs. Sadly, some of these "patients" take advantage of someone like Dr. Fuhrmann. These "patients" have ruined the field of medicine with their inability to… maintain an appropriate behavior. Three Cheers for Dr. Fuhrmann. He will be sorely missed and there are none like him left. A dead breed. I pray that anyone who reads this take time to remember him as he was...a Gentleman.

Dr. Fuhrmann started me off at 60mg of adderall a day along with 4 mg of xanax to space out over the course of the day. I honestly had no idea what a normaly dose was for those medications nor did I understand that xanax was highly addictive and following doctor's orders would leave me at one time severely addicted to xanax (going through a prescription in less than a week). I had to go to a recovery center and the withdrawals symptoms were absolutely horrendous. I don't know one person who has gone into Dr. Fuhrmann's without walking out, prescription for a controlled substance or two of their choice! No exaggeration.

As a medical man C. Furhmann presents as a caring individual that has been hardend toward those in consistant pain due fully to those damned drug addicts . I truly think any one needing care in the Kennebuck area would do well to see Dr. C.Furhmann , he's honest , trustworthy , and concerned of patient health .

He is caring, knows a lot about cardio-pulmonary and sports medicines, and is the only doctor for me. I have been with him for Ten Years and hope to stay with him for another Ten.

When I left home at age 20, one of my top priorities was finding a physician for myself. I was concerned, as I was already on medication, that he may want to alter them in some way according to his professional experience and not listen to my feelings about it. He let me talk, provided his opinions and/or concerns, and allowed me to answer his question thoughtfully. I didn't feel rushed and I certainly would never go anywhere else for my medical care. He is to the point and certainly doesn't provide pity - he provides attentive problem solving skills to resolve the issues at hand and always encourages follow up. Dr. Fuhrmann is the best physician for me as a 24 year old uninsured young woman in between jobs, in school, and with hardly enough time to think. It's a cinch to get an appointment - just walk right in! Wait times are very rarely more than 10-15 minutes and everyone knows that is NOT long for a doctor's office! I've never walked out the door having been then longer… than an hour. Quick, efficient, caring, attentive, thorough, and encouraging. I also have never encountered a PCP more sensitive to issues regarding depression and anxiety.
