Dr. Cameron Mclure Stone

I first saw Dr. Stone at his temp office in Boone (Western Carolina Eye) where he diagnosed me with "scar tissue brought on by gray hair." In Jan. 2024 he performed surgery (vitrectomy) to remove the scar tissue and replace it with a bubble that has dissolved. It will be months before we see if my vision improves -which he told me in advance. Dr. Stone explains things and takes time with you and is friendly (he called me "buddy"). I will go back to him if I need help with my other eye.

Dr. Stone is a brilliant doctor, but acts like he's in such a rush and is not a listener. I was a US Navy Hospital corpsman and worked with eye exams and other issues for years and it would be kinda' nice to talk "shop" just a little with him. He might spend 5 minutes at best with me. I've heard this same complaint from several neighbors who are his patients. I realize he's very busy, but perhaps you should not try to book so many patients and allow a little time for doctor/patient interaction

I first saw Cameron Stone a few years ago for an unusual condition that cropped up in my eye - a veil appeared to be covering my right eye and only when I closed my left did I notice it. He saw me for almost a year with monthly visits as he evaluated its condition. He was right when he said it wasn't macular degeneration. It cleared up after ceasing the use of a nasal steroid my PCP had me on. Since then, he's seen my Mom for Macular Degeneration and his attentiveness and caring demeanor ..

I have been seeing Dr. Stone for several years now, and have come to know I can trust him to always do what’s best for my eye care. Highly recommend.

I saw Dr. Stone and received a new Diagnosis of WMD. While a bit alarming to get such a diagnosis, he was patient and kind and very thorough in explaining treatment options and what his professional plan was. I experienced a torn retina one evening, and was seen by Dr Stone the next morning and in surgery that same afternoon. I have nothing but praise for the way he and the staff cared for me. As sometimes happens, I developed macular wrinkling after the surgery, so some months later Dr Stone did a macular peel to remove the scar tissue. This is a very meticulous surgery. I've never written reviews before, but I want people to know they can trust Dr Stone's skill and care for the patient.
