Dr. Cameual Nicole Wright, MD

I know she’s not in practice anymore, but I still wanted to leave a review. She was my first gynecologist and I went in for birth control for my cysts/pelvic pain. Didn’t seem to care too much about my family history with cysts and endometriosis. The first few types of pills didn’t work, she recommended nexplanon to help with cysts. 6 months later after hot flashes, weight gain, and loads of other symptoms, I got her to take it out. I then went to another gyno to get a second opinion and she told me nexplanon is solely for not getting pregnant and not for female health. She also told me that Dr. Wright didn’t remove the nexplanon correctly because she made another incision to take it out as opposed to using the same scar from the insertion. The other gyno was genuinely angry at what Dr. Wright had done to me, and after finding out the truth I was angry too.

Office staff was nice but Dr left a lot to be desired. A little rough, fast and condescending during annual. Didn't take the time to explain test results and a future procedure she wanted to perform. And worse, whispered to nurse after she left the room that I would need a procedure not even mentioned to me! I walked out after appointment and immediately requested a referral to another obgyn from my gp. Might be knowledgeable but needs major improvement in bedside manner. I, in no way, would feel comfortable having this woman perform my surgery. I want an honest, upfront Dr. who will treat me as a person - not a name on her busy schedule. I will happily look elsewhere.

My experience with Dr. Wright, herself, has been good. However, I don't believe the office is well run. I have had problems with leaving messages with the nurses and either not getting a call back or not having them submit the information I requested. It has gotten to the point where I have to walk in and speak to someone at the front desk in order to get my phone messages with the nurses resolved. I also get extremely frustrated when I have an 8am lab appointment (the first of the day) and don't get taken back until 20 minutes or more after my appointment time because the nurses and office staff do not get to work early enough to prepare for an 8am appointment. This happens every single time. It seems that they are not very considerate of their patient's time.
