Dr. Camilla K. Tsui, MD

I went to see Dr. Tsui on the advice of the emergency room physician. She seemed bothered that I was there. Never made eye contact while I explained what the ER told me and did during that visit. She was very rushed. The ER told me to go to see her because they were treating the symptom and she had to help me find the cause. Well, she just increased the medication without even trying to discover the cause. Sad thing is the increase was actually the initial dosage and I had to point that out to her (another clue that she just wasn't listen and possibly not even caring)

I read all the reviews on here (1) and other sites such as healthgrade. I went expecting a bad experience. I did have to wait, but hey it's cold & flu season. I can understand. She checked me, validated my concern told me what to use and wrote my script. I had a pleasant conversation with her in the short time. Bedside manner? I didn't go there to make a new friend! But she is nice. She seemed knowledgeable and concerned. She double checked some things of concern. I would see her again.

I've been going to Dr. Tsui ever since she joined Carilion. At first I liked her a lot! She would take the time to listen, was good with my kids, wait time was decent, etc. Over the last year or so I don't know if she just has too many patients or what but I've become increasingly unhappy with her. She doesn't follow up with prescriptions or blood work half the time and makes you schedule extra unnecessary appointments for tests instead of doing it while you are already there. Visits with her last 1-2 hours or more lately with 80% of that being in the waiting room or exam room waiting for her to see you. Like the other reviewer mentioned, she seems moody at times now like she can't wait for you to leave and your problems aren't really taken seriously. I'm currently looking for another doctor for my family because We've finally had enough.

Dr. Tsiu is a talented practitioner. She has about 4,000 people assigned to her, which sounds insane, but such is the nature of primary care in the NRV. She is a very smart women. Although I see that some of the reviews critique her lack of nurturing, I have not had these issues with her. She has been my primary care doctor for over a decade. I know that she is severely hampered by the silly Carillion telephone screening network, and the very overweight office/clinical staff send such a bad image to her patiences. Still, she is empathetic and considers multiple options. I would recommend her strongly and without reservation.

but her bedside manner is absolutely dreadful; she seems to have mood swings; she can either be pleasant or act cold as ice and spends little time with you. When I went to have an endoscopy/colonoscopy, two of the women who used to work at her office were working at that doctor's office and said that patients were leaving her in droves because of how odd she is as well as because of the long wait time. I did basically nothing and she threw me out of her practice despite my belief in having good manners.

I have been seeing Dr. Tsui for six years now. She diagnosed a thyroid problem, low vitamin D, and other minor problems. She is a good doctor. I feel comfortable that I will always find out what is going on with Dr. Tsui in charge.

...and caring. The Carillion phone screening is a bit of a hassle. That they close for lunch is silly. She's good and smart and listens. She's swamped with patients.

Very good with diagnoses and excellent attitude. I like her.

Only thing she is efficent at is calling the pharmacy back when your refills run out. She increased one of my meds to a toxic level putting me in the emergency room with tachycardia. On another occasion, suggested testing at an imaging center to investigate symptoms I was experiencing. I spent $100+ and time off work to get the test - after multiple calls to her nurse still could not get results, update, or call back - no follow-up by her AT ALL. Nurse acted like it wasn't even on my chart. Spent $100+ to find out nothing!

I was pregnant 3 months (didnt know at that time) and she said I had gas!My husband had fever for 10 days in a row and she said just drink lots of fluid and take a tylenol-- come to find out he had kidney infection. She refused to run blood tests on him to find out what was going on. REALLY POOR SERVICE...their office wouldnt call us to tell us whats going on with his blood work and she wouldnt call back to make an appointment to see us again....can you believe it? Is this what they take the Oath for?
