Dr. Cara Michelle Buskmiller, MD

Dr. Buskmiller is exceptionally intelligent and has a phenomenal bedside manner. She answers questions thoroughly and patiently without talking down to me. My first appointment with her was on the anniversary of my first daughter's stillbirth. I can't express my gratitude for her compassion that day and at all of my appointments with her. I was faced with big decisions of when and how to deliver my second daughter and appreciated her warmth as she counseled me on factors she'd take into consideration. She ended up delivering my second daughter via C-section and did a beautiful job. I'm so thankful we have her at Texas Children's in Austin. I know that she is well-regarded by all of the docs and nurses in labor and delivery and the neonatal intensive care unit. Seriously, I had many, many trips to triage this pregnancy. Every time I mentioned that I was an maternal fetal medicine patient, the nurses gushed about how they admire her. A neonatal intensive care unit nurse said they're in… awe of her skills. So the pros respect her competence, not just me as a layperson! My experience with her was the exact opposite of the low reviews listed here. Also note that at least one reviewer who does not appear to have actually been a patient gave her a low rating and insulted Dr. Buskmiller based on her being a faithful Catholic. This is a doctor you want to see if you have a high risk pregnancy. She values your life and your baby's life.

Not surprised to read these reviews about Cara. I knew she would be a failure as a physician. Her kooky religion comes before your health and your rights. She belongs convent, not in a clinic.

Cara Buskmiller is the reason I have 0 trust on the medical field. Her bedside manner is non existent. For weeks she made me feel shame and guilt for feeling pain during my abnormal pregnancy. She told me I was fine and I was a drug addict. She told me I wasn't really feeling pain, and what I was feeling was normal pregnancy pain I just needed to accept that I was just drug seeking and the pain I felt was what every woman felt. Except it wasn't, weeks after my emergency c section, I was diagnosed with endometriosis. My son from inside was tearing cement like tissue off my organs, Cara Buskmiller shamed me into thinking I wasn't really having pain. She put not only myself but my unborn child at risk. Dangerous and wildly irresponsible!

Her comments and deed to cut at baby boys, seems to be some pedophilic pleasure she justifies with strange thoughts and religion. Stay away.
