Dr. Cara Leigh Guariglia, MD

As a patient with stage IV cancer, I expected my pain to be taken seriously. It was not. Despite documented metastatic disease involving my spine, femur, and liver, I was repeatedly dismissed and treated as though I was pain-seeking. I was told that MD Anderson stated I was not their patient, which was incorrect. I personally provided extensive MD Anderson records—uploaded and emailed multiple times—yet was repeatedly told my records were “not received.” This went on for months, despite no reasonable explanation. I was questioned about why my primary care provider was located three hours away, even after explaining that patients routinely travel for specialized care. This approach resulted in delayed and inadequate pain management and caused significant emotional distress. I paid nearly $1,000 out of pocket and left appointments in tears. I do not recommend Dr Cara Guarigila for patients with complex or cancer-related pain. Patients with serious illness deserve evidence-based care… and respectful treatment. I am grateful to now be under palliative care, where my condition is appropriately acknowledged and managed.

My Wife has been a patient of Dr. Cara for 6 months now, seeing her once a month. It was readily apparent form our first visit with Dr. Cara that she belongs to a rare breed of Doctors who put patients first and spends whatever time is needed to actually listen to the patient. My Wife has seen a multitude of doctors for her chronic condition and seldom have they even seemed to listen and always rushing off to see the next patient, leaving us with with unanswered questions and ineffective treatment . But not with her. Dr. Cara's treatment plan for my Wife was very very individualized and monitored carefully and changed to meet my Wife's needs and not the clinics needs. She is extremely knowledgeable and skilled in her field of practice. i will recommend her to everyone and as a an Attorney, I do not give recommendations without due diligence.

She seems very confused most of the time and blames everything on her boss Dr Hackle.
