Dr. Cara Hurley, PhD

Dr Cara Hurley is a therapist whom I saw on and off for 5 years. The challenging part of finding a proper therapist is when you are vulnerable and not feeling well you may have a tendency to trust in the process. I worked very hard to feel better. Was respectful and looked up to her because well she’s a doctor. Admittedly, I should have sensed something was not right when she would constantly yawn while I was talking. Okay maybe I don’t have the most interesting problems but constant yawning? I’m wondering is she just tired, am I the most boring woman on earth? Seriously. In any case I just stuck with it. Until the point when we actually had the nerve to say that I should consider a divorce from my husband of 30 years. I also sensed at the time that I was one of only a few patients. So I actually wanted her to succeed. Eventually I woke up and only realized just how harmful her approach to me and my problems were when I started seeing someone new.
