As a general dentist, I have chosen to devote my career in dentistry to the care of children. I love the pure joy of working with children and being able to impact their oral health and self-esteem as well. I have had the great opportunity to practice in this area since 1996. It makes me so happy to see the smiling faces of both the parents I have treated when they were children and their own new little ones as patients.
As a woman and a professional, I love that my position allows me to mentor and be a role model to young women. It is not uncommon to have students from junior high through college in our office observing and learning about dentistry. What a smile it brings to my face when a little one says to me, “I want to be a dentist when I grow up!”
Education and Continuing Education
Prior to going to dental school, I earned my Master's degree in counseling from Boston University, focusing on the needs of children, anxiety, and behavior …challenges. This advanced education has greatly enhanced the gift I strive to give to all my patients — a happy trip to the dentist! Following the completion of my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Ohio State University, I enrolled for additional training in children’s dentistry in the Pediatric Department at the University of Illinois at Chicago. To keep abreast of the latest developments in dentistry for children, I have always exceeded the continuing education requirements for the state of Washington.
In the Office
Our office is a place where laughter and having fun is one of the core business values. We get to be silly, laugh, tease, and bring joy to children all with the underlying foundation of professionalism, expertise, and being the best at what we do.
Our experienced staff is especially interested in making all of our patients feel right at home! An exceptional group, they have a collective experience, education, and knowledge base in the dental health field that is a credit to our practice. Friendly smiles, humorous ways and patient attitudes are responsible for their success in calming fears and turning frowns into smiles.
