Dr. Carey Ertz, DO

My mother was already sick when we met Dr Ertz. She was patient, kind, and super understanding when my distraught father needed her to explain everything more than once. We had reasonable wait times and more than adequate time in her office. She made our family feel like we were her only patient. When my Mom did die, the first thing my Dad did was to send the doctor flowers. Ten years later he still talks about how Dr Ertz made that horrible time in his life bearable. I give her 10 stars!

Very un-compassionate, she does not have time for her patients, she seems unconcerned with anything you have to say, she is always in a rush to get out of your room and onto another patient.

I have been with Dr. Ertz for about 4 years now and have established a good rapport with her. She takes the time to read back through records to establish what is working and what might need some adjustment. She has treated some issues that I have had other doctors treat in the past and she has gotten far better results. I have come to trust her judgment thoroughly.

I'm actually confused by others saying she's compassionate. I actually found her to seem to not care at all. The hour I was there I physically say Carey maybe 5 minutes. She interrupted everything I was saying. Didn't seem to care about me one bit.

I found Dr. Ertz to be personable and knowledgeable. My only issue may be system wide when dealing with Methodist, this being the first time I have dealt with them. I recently moved here from out of state and my previous doctor took a "whole patient" approach, doing most of the patient care herself and only referring when she felt there was a real need for a specialist. For instance, she did pap smears and breast exams (and referred out mammography). She did cortico-steroid injections for arthritis pain. I felt much more comfortable with my primary care physician than with a specialist whom I may see only once. Every time since establishing Dr. Ertz as my primary physician, when I have called for an appointment, I have been told that she doesn't handle this and I should make an appointment with a specialist. They have, to be fair, offered to make the appointment for me with someone in network. But I just feel that she doesn't really care about getting to know me as a person and… establishing any kind of viable doctor patient relationship.

Dr. Ertz takes the time to really listen to you. She never seems like she has to get out the door to the next patient. She is very thorough when trying to determine the cause of an illness. I am so glad I have her as my primary care physician.

I met with Dr Ertz for the first time this week. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Dr Ertz took the time to really listen to my daughter and myself. She also discussed what she thought and explained her reasoning behind tests she wanted me to have done. I already have recommended her to a friend. I am pleased with my decision to have her as my primary care doctor.
