Dr. Carl Andrew Astbury, DO

I’ve never had a conflict with any health professional, but this man treated me horribly unprofessionally. I have a long history of mental health struggles, I had a full neuropsychological evaluation done less than a year ago by an actual psychiatrist (why I was sent to someone specializing in osteopathy, I do not know) with four diagnoses carefully explained, but he had no interest in listening to me. Within a half hour of our first meeting he felt confident enough to change my diagnoses altogether to something I’ve never been diagnosed with, took me off two of my daily meds without the option to taper off either of them, talked over me the whole appointment and after answering each of his questions, he completely invalidated every personal experience I was describing. Due to withdrawals from both the meds he stopped, I ended up in the mental hospital for days. I would describe this individual as pompous, condescending, and under-educated in psychiatry altogether. DO NOT RECOMMEND.… NOT A PSYCHIATRIST.
