Dr. Carl A Culley Jr, MD

Dr. Culley is unlike any doctor I've seen before. He is very smart and listens intently to your complaints. He takes in all that information and quickly comes up with a pretty accurate picture of what is wrong. However, he is not a warm and fuzzy doctor. He will not shake your hand or address you by name. He is very clinical, which negatively affects his bedside manner. I imagine he is a good doctor for a patient who just want to get their annual visit over with and move on. His manner may suit a male patient more than a female, and I get the idea he is better with elderly patients. To be his patient, you must be able to speak for yourself and be proactive in what tests/care you would like. Fortunately, I work in the medical field and knew what consults I needed, so I did all that work myself. Overall, he is a smart man with a lot of experience, but lacks that human compassion that many patients are looking for.

I would not recommend any female to go to this doctor, nor would I recommend anyone of color to seek his treatment for it is quite obvious he has no people skills, ethnical appreciation, lacks complete compassion, and I received an i dont give a darn attitude. From the moment he walked in the door I sensed he had no appreciation for me as a patient let alone as a human being. His credentials include specializing in mens health. I can believe that because he shows no kindness to women, obviously forgetting his mother was one. Ive been accustomed to physicians greeting first time patients with a hand shake and an introduction with a smile. Not this guy. He should take personality, thorough evaluations, professionalism and compassion lessons from his nurse. He's definitely in the wrong field and represents a poor reflection of representation of Cleveland Clinic. When I told the nurse that I had no desire to make a follow up appointment, she looked at me as though to say she… understood why. I wouldn't refer a stray dog to him for fear of it being mistreated. I've worked in the healthcare profession for 36 years and if I would have ever treated a patient the way he treated me, I would have been fired a long time ago
