Dr. Carl David Fackler, MD

Ruined my life with surgery. He has zero bedside manner and no empathy....And very rude. I hear he's retired and making wine. He made me never want to trust any doctor again.

Dr. Fackler was the worst doctor I have ever been to. His uncaring and arrogant attitude caused me severe but unnecessary pain that I will never forget. He told me before surgery my foot/ankle would feel like it had been “run over by a Mack truck” yet he refused to give me adequate pain medication. He also refused to listen when I told him that the cast was pressing on one incision. When I insisted that he do something because I was in so much pain, his nurse removed the cast, threw the bloody gauze away and told Dr. Fackler there was nothing wrong. He then scolded me because he said the insurance company wasn’t going to pay for a new cast. He had no compassion for me at all. His nurse didn’t either and she was very snooty to me. It was one of the very worst experiences in my life and I will never forget it.

He fused my spine due to scoliosis. He over stretched my spinal cord causing permanent damage to my peroneal nerve. He then went back in to decompress and caused a csf leak. I then had to have a third surgery to stop the leak. To top it all off, his notes are all lies. Despite the problems he caused, he wrote in my medical records that I did great, that I was moving my foot in recovery. That is a complete lie. It took 7 years of PT to be able to walk without assistance. I will never run again. I live with constant pain. Do not see this doctor!

Dr. Fackler totally botched my spinal surgery!..I'm permanently disabled by his cutting a nerve root in my neck. Left shoulder and arm are weak and muscles are atrophied. He was arrogant and uncaring and refused to admit he screwed up!

So, my wife went to Dr. Fackler 4 years ago. Thought everything was taken care of concerning payment of bill. Low and behold, Dr. Fackler dings her credit report for a $22 charge - that we did not even know about!! You have got to be kidding me!! No phone calls, just dings her credit. Thanks, Dr. Fackler.

I had suffered with back pain for several years before suffering a severe ruptured disc. I woke up paralyzed from the waist down and was taken to Piedmont Hospital by Ambulance. It was the luck of the draw that I got Dr. Fackler. He has operated on me twice. The ruptured dic cruched my spinal cord. I knew that back surgeries are not always 100% effective but I had no Choice. He took excellent care of me. His bedside manner and concern for me was outstanding. Without his wexpertise and excellent care I might not be walking today. I am upset by the negative reviews. There is no doctor that will guarantee the results in back surgery but he was wonderful to me and I will be eternally grateful to him.
