Carl Kiyohiro Gjertson, MD

I got a urinary tract infection and a high fever the day after Dr. Gjertson performed a systoscopy on me. I've had other systosopies with other doctors, each time without an infection. You may want to take that into account before using him.

While he certainly seems knowledgeable and recommended the industry standard of testing for my symptoms, his bedside manner leaves much to be desired. He showed little concern for my anxiety over a proposed procedure and was pretty much insensitive in that regard. Also did not call with test results that showed an abnormal incidental finding. Discovered it in the patient portal where the report was posted and arranged my own follow up within another specialty. Who doesn’t call with a concerning abnormal finding!?!

I went to see Dr. Gjertson after a CT scan. He took the time to ensure that the proper treatment was administered. He took the time to deal with the insurance companies, and make sure that everything was followed up on. He worked in an utterly transparent manor, and sought that everything was OK post surgery. He is the man for the job if you want someone who really cares. He has great bedside manor, and take the time to explain everything before he does it. He makes sure that the patient is comfortable and understands what any procedure consists of. Even his medical notes are detailed and properly document what occurred.

Absolutely no follow up, staff doesn't know what they're doing.
