Dr. Carl Roger Gray, MD

Dr Gray’s lack of concern and inaction regarding my many scan results may very well have cost me my life. I don’t know if he is just too busy to take the time to properly review the reports and do the proper follow up or if he just plain doesn’t care. I finally went to the Huntsman and am getting the care I should have been getting over a year ago. Unfortunately because Dr Gray didn’t take the action he should have taken my cancer has spread. Biggest mistake I have ever made was putting my trust in this man!

I was privileged to see Dr. Grey when I lived in Utah. He was straightforward, kind and compassionate. Since moving out of state, I have been extremely disappointed in the lack of professionalism and compassion in oncologists in my area. If I could, I would fly back to Utah just for my yearly visits to Dr. Grey! Maggie Legg

I have visited Dr Gray in both of his offices after being recommend by a friend and I find his staff to be warm and helpful. As for Dr Gray, I have seen a few posts where patients complain about his bedside manner and I disagree completely. I have visited way too many Doctors in my lifetime and I find Dr Gray to have one of the best bedside manners I have experienced, as well as being knowledgeable, professional and personable. I also like that he takes his time to explain your condition and your options in a manner that the patient can understand, rather than wasting valuable consult time confusing the patient with technical terms and language that makes no sense. When you're visiting an Oncologist/Hematologist it's never for a good reason, which makes your comfort level and confidence in their practice, probably more important than any other Doctor you will visit in your lifetime. You may believe that bigger clinics with more recognizable names are better, my personal… experience is proving that theory wrong. Maybe because I prefer to be the bigger fish in the smaller pond, in the respect that I am greeted by name, often with a hug by the staff and treated by a Doctor who believes the cup is half full, rather than half empty. Someone who gives me hope, who I trust and who encourages me to believe that whilst my condition can't be cured, he will try and ensure that my remaining time and quality of that time will be his main concern and extended as long as possible.

Dr Gray was the oncologist assigned to my daughter when we found out she had cancer, he just blurted out to her that she had cancer. My daughter is a teenager, he acted as though he’d just given her good news, not something that was going to change her life. Dr Gray also did not want to follow the radiation/oncologist recommend of not giving her radiation because it had a 30% chance of giving her a secondary cancer, when I asked him for a second opinion he said I could speak to his partner as he looked at me with disgust

My visit to this doctor was terrible! He is cold - no bedside manner whatsoever, and arrogant. When you have the misfortune to be dealing with cancer of any kind, you need someone who is kind and compassionate and willing to explain things without making you feel unintelligent. Dr. Gray is the complete opposite of that. I will not be going back to him. My advice would be to seek out another doctor.

I am so thankful and lucky that Dr. Gray was the oncologist treating me. I never feel rushed. He always makes me feel OK when I leave his office even if I didn't get the best news. He has taken an active role in my healthcare.

I was very disappointed with Dr. Gray. I was sent there by a radiologist because I have a cancer gene. I first saw the nurse practitioner, who was wonderful. Then Dr. Gray came in. He didn't even acknowledge me. It was recommended that I have an MRI and ultrasound. He spent next to no time with me, and when I hadn't received the MRI and ultrasound results 2 weeks after having the tests, I had to call the office myself to get the results. Maybe it was just a bad day for him, but he had no bedside manner and seemed very arrogant.
