Dr. Carl Rydell Jenson, MD

Commits to do one thing and then changes his plan and denies he ever agreed. No explanation. Couldn't explain a treatment plan if his life depended on it. From my perspective should no be practicing.

When you find out you're getting cancer, it's one of the scariest moments in your life. I was referred to Dr. Jenson, and I immediately felt like he was knowledgeable and cared. I would recommend him to anyone.

While Dr. Jenson is probably a decent radiation oncologist, I found his level of patient interaction to be very unsatisfactory. My mother was referred to him for radiation treatment and during the initial consult he seemed less interested in explaining the procedure or answering questions than he was about telling us about his stroke recovery or reinforcing that the procedure wouldn't extend my mother's life (yes, doctor, we got it after the first dozen times you told us). I was not able to be there for the treatment portion, but the day of my Mother's initial treatment, he told her he had changed the plan after a consult with another doctor but wouldn't tell her what was being changed (instead he just blew off her questions and concerns by saying that he'd discuss the "why" with her and her son another day - which never happened). This was something that my mother felt was repeated throughout her 10 days of treatment - questions ignored or glossed over, little to no in-depth… explanations, etc. At the end of the treatments, he also told her that the treatments probably didn't help at all (admittedly, this is according to my Mother since I was not there). Regardless of his actual words, this was the take away my Mother received during her last talk with him. Granted, we weren't expecting miracles, but a little compassion would have been nice.

Dr. Jensen, Dr . Cherry, Dr.Shimotakahara are the best
