Dr. Carl Edward Noe, MD

I think Dr. Noe has such bad reviews is because nobody looked him up before going to see him. His practice’s bio states that he doesn’t prescribe opioids and that could make people who don’t want other options upset. That’s not his fault; he states that on his website! I found him to be on the quiet side, but he asked me questions about my history, wrote out notes(did not type on the computer), and did basic tests like bending, reflexes, walking, etc. I came to him asking for ideas to get off of pain meds. I told him that I didn’t plan to get totally off meds (leave my current doctor) until I had a way to control the pain. We discussed dry needling (like trigger point injections, but without the meds), various therapy ideas, and addressed the ways of using counseling to decrease my fear of feeling pain as I heal. It wasn’t from a viewpoint that pain has messed me up, but that as I do the physical therapy he recommended, I need to change my fear of feeling pain now. If you go in… knowing that he won’t give you opioids, and are open to other non-opioid meds and other therapy, I think he’s a good doctor. I gave him 4 stars simply because I have only seen him once. I’ll try to update my rating after trying a recommendation for a therapy I haven’t tried and see him again in about 10 weeks. NO OPIOIDS- go see him ready to try something different. He was willing to help me even though I am still going to keep my other doctor who handles my pain meds. He seems great if you’re ready to try getting off opioids.

I met with Dr Noe this morning. He was dismissive and thoroughly the worst doctor I have ever been to. He berated me and made accusatory statements. He did the absolute minimum (barely even a glance) when it came to reading my medical documentation and imaging. He is a biased and presumptive individual. Dr. Noe should have his license revoked. Shame on you Dr. Noe. You are a discredit to the medical community, detrimental to the wellbeing of patients, and a liability to UT Southwestern Spine Center. His privilege and ego have obviously overtaken his commitment to helping patients.

He told back injects doesn't work also said to take aspirin and tylenol will give you an opioid feeling. First visit will never go back.

Virtually no exam. Asked nothing other than if I had general pain. No history reviewed. Follow up was nothing like he explained. His “pain program” was suggested but couldn’t seem to get me seen by the doctors. Have gone back to primary doctor for another doctor. Was very disappointed. I have fibromyalgia. If you have this, find a different doctor.

I’ve never experienced a more rude and dismissive doctor in my life. He was very rude and condescending in his questions and his approach to my treatment. I’m 24 years of age female and I will NEVER be going back to this incredibly rude doctor again. He didn’t even review my medical records and documentation (MRI reports, previous prescriptions, etc) before I came.. he was very nonchalant in his approach to my treatment. I would NOT recommend anyone who cares about their health to go and see him

He is a good doctor I like him he was helpful

Although it has been a long time since i have seen Dr Noe , I can say he was awesome.No one believed that i was in pain ,but he did. I was diagnosed with RSD years ago and it was nice to actually be able to put a name on it . I was treatwd with respect and kindness.I only wish i could still follow up with him as...the pain goes on!

This doctor is mired in a sea of bureaucracy. It appears that he and his staff hide behind their new electronic wall of a web portal.

He did not review my paperwork at all. Spoke off topic about other conditions that did not apply. He wasn't focused on what I was saying. Later, he changed the whole treatment plan after I questioned him specifically, and it was based on what?? I do not trust him. Would also offer zero pain relief meds so my surgeon filled them instead. No compassion and odd demeanor indeed!

This doctor said he could not offer me any help with the chronic pain I have had for years from musculoskeletal disease. He did not seem engaged, did not seem to care, and would not adjust my non-narcotic medicine or comment on it. A waste of time and money.
