I had a moderate/severe herniated vertebral disc in my lower back, leading to weakness and numbness in my leg. I was quite scared of surgery, but after reading reviews I chose to get a consultation with Dr. Sartorius to have my discectomy (I preferred a neurosurgeon over an orthopedic surgeon). He was very professional and reassuring during the consultation, and was able to accommodate my schedule and get me into surgery in a short amount of time. Surgery was performed in an clean, comfortable, easily-accessible outpatient facility, and both he and the anesthesiologist consulted with me and my mother (caretaker for post-op) before and after surgery, including providing clear post-op instructions. Even in the operating room, he was very professional but also had excellent bedside manner and put me at ease. Follow up was prompt and his office accommodated me quickly. I have healed completely with a very minimal scar!
