Dr. Carla Irene Haack, MD

Dr. Haack was my main doctor while recovering from abdominal aneurysm. In hospital more then six months. She gave me hope during my worst days. She is wise well beyond her years. She is totally devoted to her patients.. I am grateful to have her in my life.

Saved my life getting me emergency surgery for paiful inflamamtion and blockage of colon; excellent follow up in hospital. My wife raved about her communications while I was knocked out.

In 2009 my life was surely saved by Dr. Haack and her team in an emergency surgery procedure. She is one of Atlanta's outstanding young surgeons. I can't speak to other reviews but I found her to be not only a competent surgeon, but her patient after care was outstanding. She really does make you feel as if you are her only patient. I was in bad shape and spent almost two months under her care. My recovery situation was dire, but she provided me with outstanding post operative care under difficult circumstances including multiple surgeries. Dr. Haack also referred me to other outstanding surgeons who were able reconnect my colon and reconstruct a huge horribly unsightly abdominal hernia which gave me back a productive life. I was particularly moved when she came to check on me after this surgery although I was no longer her patient. I owe everything to Dr. Haack and her associates. I would slide onto her table if I needed surgery in a heartbeat. I highly recommend her.

Dr. Haack is a competent surgeon, but she will lie to her patients. I suggest if you have the prion of getting a second opinion, do so before going under her knife. You will most likely find that the surgery was not needed. Dr. Haack just wants cases to practice on and does not take into account the consequences that what she does will have on the patients quality of life. Dr. Haack will tell you one thing before surgery and a completely different thing after. She will make mistakes that are detrimental to her patients with little thought.

Dr. Haack is the best. She may be young, but she knows what she is doing. Not only is she a highly competent surgeon, the minute she introduces herself, you feel as if you've made a new friend, and as if you are her only patient. My situation was acute. I was lucky she was my surgeon.
