Dr. Carla Ortique

Dr. Ortique has been informative, knowledgeable and helpful since our 1st appointment. As an LGBT couple having our 1st child we felt completely supported by her and the team. During delivery she was attentive, intentional and honest, which allowed us to be at peace with any in the moment decision that needed to be made. I love her calm yet direct demeanor and appreciate her so much! Truly heaven sent and an amazing doctor!

I usually like doctors who tell it like it is so I thought I would really like her. I quickly found out she doesn’t just tell it how it is, she doesn’t care. She was condescending and rude about anxiety issues during pregnancy, completely did not care about any of my concerns throughout the pregnancy or after. I had to fight to get the help I needed repeatedly. She brought up my weight and BMI repeatedly even though I was exercising and eating healthy I was gaining weight. I would avoid her at all costs. She made this pregnancy so stressful. I finally had another doctor deliver my baby because she wasn’t on call and he did a great job and the nursing staff was incredible.

After establishing that there was no heartbeat seen on my pregnancy US. She then went on to ask: Maybe it’s a good time for me to reconsider if I want a baby with the person I’m with. I’m in my 40s so I may also need to think if I even want kids Whether I lived in a house or apartment, and if I felt safe at home how long my partner and I have been together. Meanwhile my husband and I waited 3.5 hours to see her. I wasn’t wearing a wedding ring so I guess that was her first judgement call.’ Instead of being able to process my grief I left feeling Angry. I DO NOT RECOMMEND HER and feel bad for anyone before me she’s had the opportunity to pass her judgments on instead of being a OBGYN PROFESSIONAL. I wish I was making this up and wish it didn’t happen. I will not be going back and will see another OBGYN for follow up.

Dr. Ortique made me very uncomfortable as though I was a burden in her busy day. She was cross when I asked questions and short when explaining things. I would not recommend her.

Felt pushed into c-section from the start. Not supportive of nursing moms. Not warm.

Upon going for my annual I took a report of prior occurrence with another institution that she reviewed and then had a sit down talk with my husband and I. I really like that she included him as well because if we're blessed to continue to see her he will be helping me with our future childbirth. After having a doctor who did not care in my first pregnancy, she is remarkable and I blessed to be able to be her patient. She really listened and showed true concern. Not to mention her schedule was very busy. After having so many years experience in health and with health professionals in my family, I know she is the best. I already feel like I can trust her. She never talked down to me and made me feel uncomfortable.

Dr. Ortique is an excellent doctor. She helped me during my pregnancy.

I saw Dr. Ortique during autumn of 2009. She was very caring, easy to speak with, spent lots of time with me, and was very thorough. I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone!

Dr Ortique was my doctor while she was in Austin and she was wonderful. I delivered 10 weeks early and thank God for Dr. Ortique. I had to spend two weeks in the hospital and her caring bed side manner and professionalism put my husband and I at ease. Our baby is healthy and doing well thanks in part to her! I have no problems recommending her!
