Dr. Carla Rumley Retief, MD

I had not one but two (shame on me) injuries as a result of both poorly maintained equipment and from Dr. Retief not doing due diligence around the risks of her laser treatment on my type of skin, (none were shared with me), something every dermatologist and plastic surgeon since has said she should absolutely know and warn about. I’m left with visible scarring and discoloration on my face for the rest of my life, and am not able to get a response from Dr. Retief or her office despite sending emails and certified mail. and the legal statute of limitations has not run out to pursue further action. Don’t make the mistake I made— think twice before going here or at least get a second opinion!!

Dr Retief was recommended by friends and neighbors, and after several years in her care she has been nothing but wonderful.She is a highly skilled surgeon and after several cancer surgeries on my face, and one reconstruction, you cannot tell she ever did these surgeries.Her staff, Tammie,Lindsay,Laurie & Adam and Terri helped me through a very scary time. I cannot say thank you enough times.The after care was just about the best I have ever experienced. Dr.Retief is beautiful inside and out. THANKS GUYS!

I saw Dr. Retief several years ago with skin cancer on my nose. I just want to say that from the time I saw her the first time, she made me feel so comfortable. Dr. Retief took excellent care of me during my visits at her office. She is a very caring person, and she is very adamant about how you take care of yourself after the procedure is finished. I took antibiotics during my recovery period, and I followed her directions to the letter. She stressed that one must take care of the wound, and keep it clean. I did everything she instructed me to do, and if I ever have skin cancer again, I will be calling her office to set up an appointment with her. She is absolutely wonderful, and I challenge anyone to beg to differ with me. She knows her subject, and I would give her an excellent rating if I was rating her.

Dr.Retief is an amazing doctor who has treated me with compassion and top quality care and follow up, with her kind and caring staff.She is just about the best dermatologist/surgeon I have ever had the luck to meet and be treated by. Dr Retief and her staff (Tammy,Adam,Lindsay and the beautiful dark haired lady who removed my stitches pain free) are totally recommended.

I was pleasantly surprised by my service. I found everyone to be welcoming and professional. Dr. Retief was so knowledgeable about my skin condition and very approachable. Her nurses are amazing. I have never had such good service in a doctor's office. I would definitely recommend this office!

I was treated very badly. After I paid with a check, they sent bills threatening to report me to credit agencies if I didn't pay yet again. I got a copy of the check from First Tennessee Bank proving I had paid and Dr. Retief had cashed a check, but a tall white man working at her office told me to "get my black behind out." I'm an elderly lady and didn't deserve that type of disrespect.

This doctor diagnosed and successfully treated two skin cancers and treated me with the utmost care,compassion,skill and with an added sense of humor that totally put me at ease.She and her staff are beyond compare.I had experienced just plain awful rudeness & unprofessional treatment with two other doctors in the area, and had almost given up in finding someone of Dr.Retief's caliber.Her office makes you feel at ease as soon as you walk through the door, and everyone treats you with respect and love. God bless Dr.Retief and her staff.I am so grateful and happy with the incomparable care I received.

I go to a Dr. for medical opinion and treatment. They have the degree right?! Instead, you hear about her problems at home, staffing problems, and plain gossip. All while she doesn't listen to your problem/condition. She looks SO fake and pumped FULL of filler. She talks down to her staff. Just plain miserable experience!!

Total cash focus. Terrible bedside manner and technique. 100% focused on taking your money. Go down the street to a much better dermatologist...

RUN AWAY. Do not let this doctor do any cosmetic procedures on you. She is SUPER aggressive with anesthesia and drug use, I'm suprised no one has died or coded yet. I was very worried when my procedure started and I started asking questions about anesthesia, medicines, and how many times she does this. Do your research, go to a plastic surgeon for more intense stuff and go to a dermatologist that knows their stuff for less invasive work. Don't let her talk you into things. I lost my money, but kept more than that.
