Dr. Carlin J Mclaughlin, DO

This doctor is very inappropriate, I am confused as to why I had a breast exam at a hematologist Appointment. He was very sexist and treated me like I was insignificant. His mannerism was sarcastic insults to make you feel insecure and uninformed. Like I was wasting his time. He was annoyed with me during the first appointment and confused my family history with my symptoms and never explained anything to me. The second appointment was no better he treated me with no respect and actually argued with me when I was telling him how my symptoms led me to his office after I have been to other specialist. I brought my husband to the second appointment because the first appointment was so bizar, it did not matter he was still very inappropriate, I ended up leaving mid appointment because I was not there to argue with the man.

Love Dr. McLaughlin! Has been my Hemotologist since 2006. He's honest and to the point. Helped my find a wonderful hand surgeon too!

Love this Doctor he is very caring compassionate and the best of the best

I have been a patient of Dr. McLaughlin's for 6 years. I trust this man with my life......literally. He has a great bed side manner, takes all the time you need during your appointment so I don't mind waiting to see him. His front desk staff and billing department are always competent, courteous and accommodating. Yes, some times my appointments need to be rescheduled, but I don't mind. The only problem I have is leaving messages with his secretary. I maybe leave a message for him once every three years, but it takes days before I hear back. Dr. McLaughlin is very knowledgeable in his field and I would recommended him to anyone.

Dr. McLaughlin treated my father for stage 4 cancer. Since this was my family's first experience with cancer, we naturally had many questions. At first, Dr. McLaughlin was accommodating, but as our appointments carried on, he became abrupt, dismissive, and seemingly irritated by our questions and concerns. His care, or lack thereof, continued to worsen, once my father was admitted into St. Mary's Hospital. Dr. McLaughlin was impossible for the nursing staff to reach. He was transferred to an outpatient care facility, where Dr. McLaughlin all but disappeared. Which would make sense to a certain degree since he was under the care of the facility, however, there were many decisions that needed approval/ input from Dr. McLaughlin, decisions that would literally take days for an answer from him. This is completely unacceptable when one is being treated for cancer. I would never, ever recommend someone to Dr. McLaughlin. I work in the healthcare profession and his lack of… involvement in care and his behavior was devastating for a family to endure. The surgeons I work with would never treat their patients or their families the way Dr. McLaughlin seems to deem proper. When you or your family are experiencing cancer, you already feel lost. You look to your physician for answers and guidance, not to feel guilty for wanting to be informed. Furthermore, what is the point of choosing a physician for a patient's care if that care almost immediately disappears?

I have been under his care for 20 years. I trust him more than any other doctor I have been under the care of.

I was referred to Dr. McLaughlin while inpatient at St. Mary Medical Center. He is extremely competent and has a particular sense of humor that I and my husband both appreciated. He explained my condition and treatment options very well, and answered our questions thoroughly. I've not had an issue with the office staff being discourteous but had some minor scheduling issues that were sorted quickly and professionally.

I'm not sure where the negative reviews are coming from either. The staff is busy, but highly efficient and accommodating. Dr. McLaughlinn is very intelligent, thorough, and personable. While the wait time to see him could be a tad better, I appreciate that Dr. McL. gives every patient his undivided attention and does not end the office visit until all bases are covered and all questions are answered.

This guy is the biggest jerk.....don't recondmend.......!!!

Although Dr. McLaughlin takes his time and is articulate, the ineptitude of his office staff diminishes any positivity. Since patients deal primarily w/the office staff re: appointments, information, and follow up care, the office staff needs to be efficient as well - and this staff is not. It is also difficult to get an appointment.
