pectus excavatum reconstructive surgery nuss bar procedure as my first surgery i was very nervous, dr. angel did a great job at reassuring and comforting me. many of his staff members are great including the anesthesiologist, but i did i have a problem with one of the nursing who didn't want my boyfriend anywhere near me and also left me sitting on the toilet when i couldn't get up on my own. other than that my 6 day stay at children's was great. except that same nurse forced me to walk when i wasn't ready because of the pain. my chest appearance is much better. still have pain if i lay in the wrong position or sneeze, laugh etc.. (2 years post op) i also have a strange popping noise when breathing too deep, which dr. angel assures me is normal.. still weird though. all in all, i feel very comfortable in going back to have the bar removed even though i have a huge fear of anesthetics.

Dr. Angel is an amazing doctor. He spent time explaining everything to us before and after the surgery on our daughter. His gentle and loving approach put my wife and I at ease everytime he was with us. We are lucky a doctor of this caliber was available for our daughter.

Thanks to Dr. Angel my son is living. He was accurate and caring.

Our infant had major life saving surgery soon after birth. Our baby was in the hospital 2 months before going home. When she was almost 3 months old, we went to a follow-up visit. When he came in the room he had 2 students with him. He drew a picture of what he had done during the surgery and also what other surgery is needed ASAp. The problem was is that he was explaining it to them and not us. We were trying to look over his shoulder to se what he was saying and drawing, He would come and go, but never really answered any of our questions. He actually never set down or had our baby out of her strokker.During that vist there were test ordered and another appointment set up to prepare for more surgery. Four days after the test was done that would determine if there would be surgery or not, I called to find out results so we could make plans at work to be off for surgery and recovery time. I am not sure if it was the doctor's fault, or if his nurse had not been prepared for my call. We… go back tomorrow and are determined that Dr. Angel answers our questions that he ignored last time. Families have to make plans in theworld outside of their very sick child. It would make a big difference if he would just sit down and tell us everything going on, instead of teaching others to have this type of bedside manner.
