Dr. Carlos Hugo Espinel, MD

This Doctor and his staff are so rude, he has no manners and he doesn’t know how to treat people, I do not recommend this Doctor to anyone the waiting is awful and their service is really bad.

Dr. Carlos Espinel and his staff have very poor communication. Waiting is long. No response to getting your medical records. After 3 days and 3 phone calls when I got allergic to a heart medication he prescribed I was left hanging, no return calls. The medication contained 2 things I was allergic to and I should not have been prescribed that to begin with. I was sick in bed 3 days in pain and headaches. Do not recommend him to anyone. Very disappointed

I feel so bless to have found Dr Espinel I will recommend him to any one, in my 55 years of age I had never had a such correct examination.

Visiting Dr. Espinel I know I have a very good doctor dedicated to my health and I also know I will wait for him.

Desde hace algun tiempo, he venido escuchando de parte de amigos y colegas del trabajo, de que el Dr. Espinel es un excelente doctor. El dia de hoy decidi llamar a su oficina para hacer una cita con este famoso medico del area metropolitana de Washington, D.C., para que me hiciera un examen fisico y compararlo con otros exámenes medicos a los cuales me he sometido. La persona que atendió el telefono en la oficina del Dr. Espinel, me pregunto mi nombre y mi edad, al final la Asistente me informo que el Doctor Espinel no atendía a personas mayores de 60 años, grupo al cual pertenezco. Esta politica me parece muy discriminatoria por tratarse de un Medico quienes entiendo, se deben a sus pacientes sin menoscabar su edad y tambien encuentro muy rara esta politica de un medico en los Estados Unidos. Me considero una persona saludable, y hubiera sido para mi muy importante que este medico me atendiera, Pero por las razones de politicas de edad no se pudo. De manera que, no puedo… dar un testimonio favorable del Dr. Espinel.

Things have changed in Dr. Espinel´s office. He was my doctor for many years, and was always very caring and courteous, but recently there is new staff who are nasty and rude. This is a great shame because I think Dr. Espinel is a highly qualified doctor, worth taking the time to wait over an hour in his waiting room. Because of this situation, I have decided to go to another doctor because while medical expertise is important, it´s hard to put up with rudeness and office mismanagement.

Dr. Espinel was my doctor for many years I am sorry to say he is no longer my doctor. I think if he was still my doctor I would not have the medical problems that I have today.Between the changes in our insurance and moving out of the area I feel I have lost the best doctor I ever had.Wait time is an issue but is a small price to pay.Year ago I had to have emergency surgey but they would'nt do it till I had an all clear from here. He was examing me at his office across from the hospital at almost 11:00 PM. He is the only doctor I have ever had when they gave you an appointment time of 8:00 or 9:00 you have to ask day or evening.He and his staff were the hardest working and most dedicated that I have ever known. This man is not just a doctor he is really special. He has developed and invented treatments that have helped or saved thousands and thousands of people. So in all honesty a little wait is a small price to pay.

Dr Espinel is an old style doctor. He has been able to diagnose problems from 2 of my references very quickly. I am a patient and I have referred 4 patients to the doctor, including my brother. They are all very happy. Only drawback is the wait can be quite long.

I have been going to this doctor for over a year now. He seems to know his stuff, but he is horrible with scheduling. EVERY single time, my wait has been long. Last week, my wait time was 2 hours and 45 minutes. Yes, 2 hours and 45 minutes. Before that, it was 1 hour and a half. EVERY time we're told the doctor is backed up. I get that the doctor wants to maximize his income by scheduling appointments back to back to back, but he should really have realistic expectations about how long his appointments take.
