Dr. Carlos Rios Porter, MD

Staff consistently forgets to fill prescriptions or make referral appointments. Had asked specifically on numerous occasions to see Dr. Porter and when I arrive I am always handed off to a Physicians Assistant. Have only seen Dr. Porter one time in over 4 years. Constant requirements to do blood work. Make an appointment for my annual physical exam and receive some Medicare annual exam. Staff told me that it was mandatory or I might lose benefits. Checked with Medicare and it WAS NOT MANDATORY.

After every monthly medication refill appointment i confirm that they won’t forget about calling in my prescriptions because they do this to me every month. I leave and wait and call the pharmacy at the end of the day to make sure they got my prescriptions and they never get them. Then I have to call the doctors office to remind them. They either don’t answer my calls or when they do they say they will send them and still don’t. I end up calling after hours and they throw and automated message at me saying to call during business hours and it hangs up on me. I’m always left in tears. Especially since there’s a nation wide shortage and I have to call so many pharmacies to find one that has just enough in stock. I tell them this is the pharmacy that has it in stock they forget to call it in and the pharmacy runs out. Then I have to find another one that will has it only for them to ignore me. I’ve been a patient here for years but the past year has been a nightmare. I wish I could trust… my dr but I can’t. They’re a cruel practice. I’ve never been made to feel this way by my dr. If you want quality care please visit anyone else. I never leave a review but I can’t keep feeling like this. I’m always left in tears. I know I should find a new dr. Just wish they could be like they used to be.

I would normally go to the Westover Hills location and every time I go in for my appointment I have to wait for about an hour to be seen by the doctor. Most recently I had some medication adjustments and called to let the doctor know that I was not feeling good with the dosage but they did nothing to help, the medical assistant gets on the phone and tells me that the doctor wants me to go in for another appointment, which I did not have time to go in and wait another hour to be seen. I notified the medical assistant that all I need is for dosage to be lowered back to my previous dosage but the doctor made no attempt at speaking with me or doing anything to help whatsoever, so now I feel like crap on my new medication and I will probably just stop taking the medications altogether even though I really need them. I do not recommend Dr. Porter Westover Hills location I have never had an experience like this at any doctor's office, at the very least the doctor should have made an attempt… to do something to help the situation.

I felt like he is more interested in making the money than providing health care. Quick, to the point (his point) appointments, not thorough nor interested in what I needed. Made off colored joke. Which was pretty unprofessional. The PA was no better informed or attentive (but no rude wisecracks). Front staff did not follow through - except with the billing information. Very chaotic. No thanks.

AMAZING IMPROVEMENT OVER THE LAST 2 YEARS! I have been a patient for 15+ years and chose to stay with Dr.Porter because of his AMAZING care for me. The staff is very friendly and helpful with any concerns you may have. Amazing office manager Cindi, what an amazing job on turning that place around. I 100% recommend this doctors office.

I saw Dr. Porter for the first time last week due to an insurance change I had. I was very please on how organized the office staff was with my information when I checked in as well as the attention I was given by the nursing staff and the doctor. Everyone seemed pleasant and helpful and I was out of my appointment within 1 hour.

Dr, PAs and Staff very on point....I needed as appointment and they got me in the same day!

Stay away from this clinic. They over charge you for a visit and say it was prolonged. Then hit you with $196 charge. They send you for tests you do not need...they nearly sent me for a neuropathy test rather than a spirometry test. Good thing I caught that. Then they diagnosed me with a positive urine culture for an UTI and did not treat me for 30 days. Horrible staff and incompetent doctors. I'm reporting them to the medical board. Beware of positive reviews as they give you money off your copay if you give a good review.

I have written this comment before and I am writing it again to hopefully save someone the agony of this doctor. It really looks like someone is posting positive reviews on behalf of this office in an effort to clean up their horrible reviews. I strongly advise anyone interviewing this incompassionate doctor and his rude staff to read older comments (read, read, read ...all the way down to see how REAL experinces were rated). Someone has posted back to back positive comments; but in reality how many patients actually take the time to do that??? Think about it and you be the judge. I am going to point out that they are all anonymous and it looks like the same author. (Now pay attention to reviews that will be dated after mine and watch how they will try to change it up - to include no longer annonomous because they will make up fake names and change their writing style) How sad, that they have to do this and won't allow the general public to easily find the truth about this Doctor.… The part that broke my heart was that who ever Dr Porter is paying to write this has posted and posed as a cancer patient. Who ever the author of these reviews is PLEASE REFRAIN FROM DOING SUCH INSENSITIVE REVIEWS! My mother and I were treated like crap by Dr Porter and I will stop at nothing to warn the public! No sick and elderly person or her advocate should EVER endure what my poor mother went through!

I saw P.A. Leigh. My experience was really good. She was quick to see me and she was patient with me. She answered all of my questions and was very professional.
