Dr. Carlos Eduardo Puig, MD

Dr. Puig does not care about his patients. First pregnancy, i was pregnant about 5 months and during those months i would get bleedings that were not normal, i would let him know and he would not check me, all he would say was that it was normal. About 21 weeks i suffered a very heavy bleeding and i called their clinic and they told me to go to Women's Hospital in Edinburg. Turns out he does not have privileges there. He was in Mission Hospital, so the clinic lied to me. The staff is very rude too. They could not move me to the Mission hospital because i was already suffering a miscarriage. Dr. Puig never once checked up on me. After the miscarriage i made an appointment(because they didnt even do that) to go see the Dr. to ask if i was okay and what was the reason for the miscarriage. Dr. said he did not know. Throughout the whole pregnancy Dr. Puig neglected me. If he would have done his job correctly, i would have never suffered from a miscarriage. Please avoid this doctor!

Known to have long labors which ends up putting babies at risk & ending up in nicu. I would know.. unfortunately.. I would ask for a c-section after being in labor for 35 hours & seeing my babies heart rate go down on the monitor & he refused to do so JUST BECAUSE he didn't have enough experience. I do not reccomend this doctor for anybody.. he totally robbed me from experiencing a beautiful child birth...

I definitely recommend Dr. Puig to take care of your pregnancy. He's the best Dr. at Womens Clinic of South Texas. He knows how to treat a high risk pregnancy, he's a humanity person. He gives all of his time to all questions you have. I always leave happy with his positive advice.

He's a very nice doctor. It's hard to come by genuinly nice people that actually listen to your concerns. The staff is nice just hate that you wait there for HOURS (3+) just too see him and when u get into a room u wait another hour :/ that is the only bad thing... but u go home after every visit with a pic of ur baby and the women's clinic gives you a FREE 5 min 3D ultra sound when u get to the amount of weeks ur suppose to.. just make sure to ask about it to make sure u get it... love this doctor just HATE that it takes so long to see him.. waste half ur day in the wait room :/
