Dr. Carlos Daniel Ramirez, MD

Dr. Ramirez and Shelby are amazing, but unfortunately the front desk staff are rude and not helpful. I went in today for an appointment, and was told that I had an outstanding balance of $187. When I asked for details, the person at front desk put a bill in front of me which just had an office visit listed, which is usually a $20 co-pay. When I asked for more details, she simply repeated what was on the bill. I said that I did not agree with the bill, and would like more details, as felt  the insurance was not billed correctly. I was then told they would not let me see the doctor unless I paid the bill. I again stated that I wanted more details before paying. The front desk manager then got involved, and stated the same thing. She did offer for me to pay a portion so I could see the doctor, and when I said that i would pay the $20 co-pay, she refused and stated she was just doing her job. This is horrible customer service, as I have always paid my bills on time, but they were… adamant that I could not see the doctor unless I paid something. Unfortunately their lack of customer service has prompted me to find a new doctor. Dr. Ramirez & Shelby, if/when you read this review, please know that I have the utmost respect for both of you...but your front desk staff needs some serious coaching!

I saw Dr. Ramirez for the first time last week and was very impressed. He was already knowledgeable about my medical history, having reviewed my chart ahead of my visit, and was friendly, informed and patient in our initial visit. He immediately picked up with bloodwork testing where my previous Dr. left off (she left the area) and my 30 year old nephew recommended him. I am glad he did, as picking a primary is the basis of your future care. He asnswered all questions and treated me respectfully and made sure that I understood everything he had explained.

Dr. Ramirez has refused to refund $30.00 he owes me due to Anthem covering the copays on covid visits - he made an agreement with Anthem but apparently he is not a man of his word. Even his billing department agreed a refund should be made when Anthem called on my behalf. Now the office doesn't even answer calls when Anthem or myself call, Kevin Cunningham
