Dr. Carlos Manuel Ramirez, MD

Dr. Carlos Ramirez earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio, Piedras, P.R. and earned his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in Rio Piedras, P.R. He completed both his internship and the 1st and 2nd year of his Internal Medicine residency at the USPHS Hospital in Baltimore, MD and completed his 3rd year residency at the University District Hospital in Rio Piedras, P.R. Dr. Ramirez completed a Pulmonary Fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, S.C. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and its sub-specialty Board in Pulmonary Diseases. Dr. Ramirez has been on staff at Ochsner since August 2007. Prior to joining Ochsner Dr. Ramirez served as a staff physician and in multiple medical leadership roles for 27 years at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in New Orleans . Dr. Ramirez also held medical leadership roles at the Tulane Medical Center, New Orleans and Academic …leadership roles at the Tulane University School of Medicine. He currently practices at the Ochsner Health Center located on the Ochsner Medical Center - Kenner campus.
