Dr. Carlos Adolfo Silva, MD

Dr Silva saved my life in 2004. I have been seeing him ever since. There is no better pulmonary Doctor than Dr Silva. I love him with good reason , I wish him and his family a wonderful life forever.

I cannot thank god enough to have found Dr. Silva. He is compassionate, patient, and so very kind. He is the best doctor I have been to in Hampton Roads.

Dr. Carlos Silva and his team are absolutely fantastic. He's a Top Doctor in Hampton Roads, which means other doctors say they'd go to him if they needed his specialty. He was able to diagnose and successfully treat a friend and my husband who were having problems other doctors had missed for months or even years. In my husband's case he'd been misdiagnosed by doctors for about 15 yrs, and was only getting worse. Dr. Silva figured quickly figured out he had non-wheezing asthma, treated him, and got his symptoms under control very quickly. My friend had had problems for months, but Dr. Silva figured out the cause of her problems as well, and got her feeling better quickly. He has a very busy office, but they are great about working established patients in, when needed. Insurance didn't want to pay for the meds for my husband, or my friend, but his office went to bat for us, making phone calls, sending letters/FAXes, and Dr. Silva even doing a phone conference w/an insurance… company doctor to get them what they needed. This is the kind of doctor you want on your side. My husband doesn't normally like doctors, but he likes Dr. Silva better than any he's had. I used to work for a surgeon, and figure out pretty quickly if a physician is a good one, or I need to find someone else. Dr. Silva is definitely one of the good guys. Highly recommend, and have sent several of my friends his way as well.

My father saw this doctor. I am trying to review him where ever I can. He was horrendous in patient well being. My father has lung problems and we didn't get anywhere with him. His treatments did not do anything to better the situation. I don't want to leave personal details but let's just say after we left him we got different answers elsewhere but then it was to late. Leave his practice if you can or do not see him at all.

Not one time did his staff take care of ordering my medications or testing as promised. I was told many excuses and in the end had to leave the practice due to their incompetent unprofessional staff.

Dr. Silva does not spend time when you have questions about something. Every time I would ask a question he would give me an answer, but not answer my question. He seemed nice at first. Often he would tell me one thing and when I went back his staff would tell me something else. He does not know the policies and procedures of the office.

His receptionist appears to have an attitude. People are there because they are not healthy. It would be nice if they could show a little compassion.

this office seems greedy. the doctor requires an office visit every three months to refill prescriptions even though it is not medically warranted. appointment cards don't mean that you have an appointment; the staff may not have entered the appointment into the system.

A very caring and professional staff; from the receptionist to dr. Silva himself. Dr.Silva takes time with all his patients and explains things at their level making you feel special. He really knows his stuff an we have every confidence in him and feel blessed to have found him.
