Dr. Carlos Augusto Williams JR., MD

Left with a headache after seeing him. If you want to be irritated out of your mind at 9 AM I would recommend him. Tries to turn a neurologist appointment into a psychologist visit and gets offended when you don't engage. No one wants to play 20 questions with a stranger.

Dr. Williams takes his time asking questions and listening to his patients. He is incredibly thorough in ha research to determine accurate diagnoses. Dr. Williams is also wonderfully personable! I discovered that VCU recently closed his office in South Hill. I am devastated.

This Dr has horrible bedside manner, has airs about him, has lied to me several times, showed me an mri that wasn't me. I will never, ever go back to him

This man is not out to help anyone but himself. I felt more like i was on trial than getting help. He belitted my life situation, my gender, my problems and i have yet to get my $100 back so stole from me too for his so called "Service". He pried far into my personal life, more than a man claiming "he isnt a psychologist" should. assumed because i have PTSD and am a girl that i got it from being battered. blamed me for things that were out of my control, mocked me, demanded i showed him my seizures like im some practiced actor that knows whats going on when im blacked out convulsing. when i told him i was uninsured he rolled his eyes at me. he didnt even know my NAME, clearly didnt even read my records and treated me like a little girl to boot. i get i look young but im almost 30, asking me "what do i want to be when i grow up" on top of witnessing him mistreating his underlings. avoid this man at all costs. avoid VCU at all costs in South Hill. i have horror stories just from my… experiences to fill a book.

I have seen Dr. Williams on several occasions. First was for his sleep clinic. Then follow ups every year. He saved my life and has always been very compassionate towards my health concerns. He is among the best!

I have worked in the health care profession for > 20 yrs. High level functional person who self medicated with every OTC pain med and sleep med known to man trying to ease my migraine chronic pain and promote at least a couple hours sleep to work and get trough the day. After that led to severe negative effects and emergent care treatment, I was referred to Dr. C. Williams. I was able to be seen extremely quick. Dr. Williams promptly evaluated my condition, listened to my concerns while assessing my symptoms. Clarified my diagnosis and identified conditions I was totally unaware I even had. Treatment initiated immediately. Quickly ruled out other conditions that could have same symptoms to focus treatment to my patient specific care needs and facilitated devising my treatment needs promoting comfort, not inhibiting my extreme high work and home care demands while promoting my ability to identify the self care and environmental changes needed to be made to lessen stressors leading to… the triggers causing the migraine rebound effects as well. The staff is extremely helpful, listens to you and your concerns, relays your concerns to Dr. Williams timely and returns your calls promptly as needed. I would recommend Dr. Carlos Williams to all family and friends, as well as, refer professionally to co-workers who has clients in need in this area of an excellent highly skilled professional neurologist. I have been seeing Dr.. Williams for several years. He is too the point and does not sugar coat anything. He makes me take responsibility for helping him with my medical care and holds me accountable. I've been to a large teaching Hospital in Durham, NC and after spending thousands of dollars went right back to my Neurologist. He diagnosed me correctly and is treating me effectively for the chronic headaches I have.
