I was hoping that I did not have to do this but after I came home crying on Friday after my visit I feel completely misunderstood dismissed and rushed I brought my journal with me to ask him several questions I was under the impression that my appointment was 15 to 20 minutes and I believe that I spoke with him for less than five minutes once he told me that my pain wasn’t that bad after I spoke with my family practitioner who told me that I was in bad shape I knew he didn’t care I will not be returning to the office I will be finding someone Of culture that will understand my pain because he did not seem interested at all I left feeling like more stressed out that he will not help me get through this, I am a black woman and it is so hard for white male doctors to understand when you say you are in pain but they will give you a prescription or offer you a narcotic before even asking you any real questions he didn’t give me any feedback on the questionnaire when I told him about my… pain this was an unnecessary appointment that he got paid to speak with me for four minutes after $50 was spent in a cab to get there I am just disappointed I am trying not to let this bother me but I will be canceling all appointments with him and finding me someone who actually cares before I can even ask him another question he was already standing Up walking halfway across the room at the door telling me to make an appointment for six weeks I was so flustered and in shock I had to try to find which way he went down the hallway to ask him about my x-ray I had to call back an hour later to ask him about the equipment and as I looked in my notebook the seven questions that he did not answer because he rushed my appointment and I just don’t believe that he genuinely cared about me as an African-American woman in pain so I will be finding someone of culture to help me get through this. The sad part is I started my appointment by telling him that previous doctors had dismissed my pain and I cried for years and I was even suicidal I was in so much pain he said are you suicidal right now I said no but I’m trying to tell you how much pain I am in because he was dismissing my pain levelsI will not be seeing any more white male doctors because they do not care about the black community..

Couldn’t be more pleased with the correct diagnosis and procedure used to eliminate back pain caused by severe arthritis in my back. Careful and conservative. In addition he and his staff were competent and caring.. He is among the very best!

My partner came to get a hip injection. He told the care team before his procedure that he usually needs additional local anesthetic, and requested that they give him more if needed. The care team literally laughed it off with a joke. They then proceeded through the procedure with my partner experiencing so much pain that he was sweating and unable to breath at times. Then, as he was dropping my partner back off in the room with me, the technician literally said, "Well a 90 year old woman put you to shame!" because my partner was in so much pain during the procedure. My partner advocated for himself, asked for what he needed, and was then ignored, and mocked by these "professionals". Completely unacceptable. Listen to your patients instead of trying to fast track through your day.
