carmel cone told me i had a hernia and to go get it operated on. i went to a surgeon i trusted and he told me he could find no hernia but i should go be looked at for endometriosis. it ends up that that is what i had, not a hernia as carmel cohen wrongly diagnosed. i went thru terrible pain because of his mis-diagnosis.

Sent me out the door with an untreated cervical or uterine infection. A company man before he is a doctor. BAD bedside manner!!!

Dr. Cohen saved my life 24 years ago. To this day, I make the trek into New York to see him. I can't imagine seeing any other gyno/onc.

1989 Dr. Carmel Cohen saved my life. His expertise cannot be surpassed by someone with better bedside manner. Bedside manner, waiting time, etc are all insignificant. I believe in always finding the best doctor and Dr. Cohen is the best.

It was my misfortune to be referred to Dr. Cohen for a hysterectomy, when my regular doctor left on vacation. I was a bit overweight then, and, during his only exam, he callously told me that he could save me from my cancer, but not from my weight. I was mortified and embarrassed by his comment. During Dr. Cohenâ??s operation, multiple veins were torn. I was literally bleeding to death and other doctors had to be called in. They were afraid I would go into cardiac arrest on the table from all of the blood loss. In fact, I later had a heart attack while still in the hospital. Dr. Cohen never came to see me after my surgery. The damage I suffered was so bad that I wound up in a coma on life support, needed many more surgeries, had a heart attack in the ICU, my kidneys failed and I spent months in the hospital and then in rehab. My life is not the same. I've been left with a very serious vascular and cardiac condition, as well as other problems. I would never recommend Dr. Cohen to… anyone.

Seeing Dr. Cohen was the worst medical experience of my life. He had promised me a local anesthesia for a cryo procedure. While on the table screaming in pain, he then tells me "there is no local but don't worry, you won't turn into a pumpkin". Really??? I was at that point a 30 year old woman having my insides scorched and that is his bedside manner? I was then left on the table after the procedure, alone. When I could finally stand up I collapsed in a puddle of blood in the changing room. No one came to check on me until I pulled myself together and left. Unbelievably callous, cold treatment of a patient facing cervical cancer. He should not be practicing medicine in my opinion.

What a difference an expert makes, I felt such security in his evaluation and expertise I am so happy to have found him
