Dr. Carmel Anne Foley, MD

Dr. Foley is incredibly empathetic, easy to talk to and highly skilled. She knows her medications and is extremely helpful!

My son has been seen by Dr. Foley for several years and is an excellent psychiatrist. When first seeing her she accurately diagnosed my son when, other psychiatrists had been unable to help. She has continually given my son the best possible care and as a result he is doing so much better. She has always been caring as well as professional, and never rushes an appointment. Truly the best!

This doctor is a non-caring person. Dr. Foley is brusque and does not consider the past psychiatry (or lack thereof) experiences of children. She should not be allowed to consult on patients in pediatrics. We waited over 72 hours to be seen by this inept physician, who wanted to transfer us to a second facility. This second facility is not fit to raise pigs, let alone take care of children. Dr. Foley had no personal experience of this second site (also affiliated with North Shore LIJ), then states that the place is fine and good. Dr. Foley is a liar, as the place my daughter was sent to is dirty, with broken furniture, and remnant of something from the 1960's. There is absolutely no way that anyone could find mental solace or rest in this second facility. In addition, Dr. Foley informed us that there were no available beds at Northshore, and that there could NOT be any chance of a bed. I later find out (serendipitous) that one of my neighbor's child shortly afterwards was admitted to… NS-LIJ. I would highly recommend that Dr. Foley be removed from pediatric psychiatric services.
