An exceptional team Dr. Milano and the surgical transplant team. I was a patient with stage 4 Heart Failure evaluated for a transplant. An alternative Aortic Valve Replacement was performed 2 years ago and I am able to teach Physicians Nurses and healthcare administrators now . I Chose Duke because of their reputation, quality indicators and patient volumes. I could have gone anywhere but chose the Duke Heart Center and I am thankful and delighted I did.

Dr. Milano was the only doctor willing to touch my mother's heart. At the time that her disease had attacked it she was consider very, very high risk with not much of chance of survival. We had her airlifted to Duke. He was is truly amazing doctor! He not only saved her life but he gave my mom hope when other doctors had turned their backs on us. He's the best! His staff and fellows are wonderful professionals as well.

In 2004 only 1/3 of my heart was working. Dr. Milano did a ventricular restoration and a double bypass operation and now my heart is working fine. The last visit to Duke Hospital they did some test and said that my heart is now working normally. Thank you Dr. Milano.
